  1. It shouldn’t be surprising. At this point N. Arlington still looking good for an hour of heavy rates which would be cool to see. Hugging the EURO.
  2. Pretty meh for DC metro though. Congrats to jackpotville. Pretty surprising that this has trended north with every run.
  3. Seems like a slight bump to the north on the GFS. DC metro still in the good stuff but the cut off is a bit closer. Also (shockingly) upped amounts to the north.
  4. Just about no one I spoke to knows anything about this snow, which is now less than 18 hrs out. Could be a mess.
  5. I don’t understand 90% of this but I think I like it!
  6. This is still just a grass/mulch/deck event inside the Beltway though, right? Seems to be no anticipated road impact until you get n/w.
  7. Yeah, the Pacific red blob of death is muted. Still a ++AO but better overall look for sure
  8. 6z EURO has surface temps around 33-34 in DC metro at the height of the “storm” (0z Weds) with temps dropping below freezing a few hours later as precip tapers off.
  9. Apologies if this has been posted, but here is 6z EURO.
  10. CMC and NAM combo is pretty much money. Never been wrong.
  11. 1pm start time inside the Beltway? What can go wrong?
  12. All I remember is that we went from Jan 2016 to Jan 2019 without a warning event.
  13. Nothing super interesting but my favorite would be the January snowstorm. Got about 10”. Nice event and it made the winter for me.
  14. Thanks Psu. Is there a region of the country for which our “crap” pattern (i.e. the one we are facing) is actually a dream pattern? Are there weenies out there in another forum cheering for a +EPO, +NAO, -PNA pattern?
  15. Jan 7th. Almost a nice little event. Way too far out to take seriously.
  16. I’m getting flashbacks to last winter where we spent late-December and early-Jan tracking the “flip”. Not looking forward to post after post about the MJO and Siberia (no offense to the great posters who post about that though).
  17. And if you’re hearing about it, there’s a 99% chance the winter is going down the tubes.
  18. Congrats Roanoke on this run. EDIT: Snowing verbatim in DC at 192.
