  1. Watching Jym Ganahl led me to buying a giant sheet of thick plastic and the lumber to build a backyard ice rink in the early 2000's. He used to talk about his. Lots of fun for the kids. Winters lately would not be worth the effort. RIP Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk
  2. Yeah, trying to remember the last time we had measurable snow on snow. It's been awhile. Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk
  3. Just measured about 5.5 inches in my backyard just east of Don Scott field (kosu). Perfect snow for my little electric snowblower. Nice little band going through now. I'm happy with this. Looks like it's gonna stick around a while too. Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk
  4. Snow shield over Dublin in full effect on radar. Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk
  5. Blizzard of 78 did it for me. Been chasing it ever since. Finally thinking about moving to Colorado, where one of my 3 adult children just moved. Just need to convince the other two to move. Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk
  6. It's been so long since we've had something like this to consider, who knows? Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk
  7. You know winter is messed up when you smell a skunk in your backyard on January 30! Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk
  8. This definitely looks like an over performer. Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk
  9. Was just out blowing the driveway. It's brutal out there. A big gust came through and kicked up a brief ground blizzard. Haven't experienced that in many years. Fun stuff! Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk
  10. Just got this text from Spectrum: We're preparing for potential service outages during the storm. Visit Spectrum.net/stormprep for info. If you lose power, call your utility company. Is this really necessary from my ISP? Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk
  11. If this pattern of weekly 40 degree shifts in temperatures continues into the summer, I will be shifting our plan to move to the southwest into high gear. This is just brutal. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk
  12. Lol, love my OnePlus. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk
  13. Enjoy your storm all! I live just east of the OSU airport (Don Scott) but am currently in sunny Phoenix visiting our son who just moved out here last year. My other son and daughter are watching our dogs and report that it was ripping snow at the house a little bit ago. I can't believe I'm missing the first decent storm in so long. I'll live vicariously through reading your reports in between sunny mountain hikes, etc. Have fun and post some pics! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk
  14. There are studies going on about cannabinoids effect on the Coronavirus. I have some strong anecdotal evidence that says it helps. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk
  15. Why do you care so much? It's not hurting you. On the other hand, if someone doesn't wear a mask in a crowded area and has asymptomatic covid they could infect others. It's a simple matter of compassion and empathy. I truly don't understand the mask debate. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk
  16. Am I wrong in thinking it's been a few years since we've had snow cover in Columbus for this long? Seems like the glacier in my backyard might hang tough through next week if we don't go too far above freezing.
  17. yeah back to sleet here and just saw that dry slot. I've seen this movie before. Grrrrr! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk
  18. Moderate sleet here just east of OSU airport northwest of Columbus. Flakes just staring to mix in as it intensifies. Temp has dropped to 24. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk
  19. Looks like its jelly of the month club for central and western Ohio, unless cousin Eddie somehow saves the day.
  20. Got on here and saw the "hot" tag on this thread and stupidly thought maybe something good was brewing. sigh.. This has been without a doubt the most craptastic winter I remember thus far in my lifetime. My boss typically goes to Florida for a week in February and we have had polar vortexes here during that same week, on more than one occasion. I was holding out hope for that, but I fear my hopes will be dashed. Oh well..
  21. My favorite type of snow by far, other than a big dog obviously. No over hyping and most people probably woke up surprised this morning. The Bluebirds in my backyard love it too!
  22. Interesting drive to work this morning. The snow was so fine it was more like fog.
  23. This will verify. Cold and snow, not so much. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk
