  3. Research is a ****ty profession sometimes. Everyone just steals like it's no big deal.
  4. When was this? Wonder if they'll show it again.
  5. It's not really "since Sandy" as much as it's been dry fora long time other than Sandy.
  6. yeah i didn't look past the top 5 (well, 6) really since that was 'easy' given the seasons with no 2" events. the markers are somewhat subjective of course.. 1.9 at DCA on 1/27 could have easily cut that stretch a bit.
  7. Snow drought: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/capital-weather-gang/post/washington-dc-in-longest-drought-without-a-2-inch-or-greater-snowfall-event/2013/01/03/38c6a4c0-548b-11e2-8b9e-dd8773594efc_blog.html?wprss=rss_capital-weather-gang&tid=pp_widget
  8. The whole DCA argument is played out. People who don't understand it love to harp about it. No single point station tells you much more than the weather at that location. The best is the guy who says he did an analysis that Dulles is a better match for DC weather.
  9. seems to be back now. tho i shared it then capitalweather reshared it and it's an 8mb file so we might have killed the server
  10. cool full-storm conus loop http://www.theplayerstour.net/osnw3/z20091217-20.html
  11. First meso discussion about to be issued for 1-2/hr with some spots if 3"/hr
  12. why is that? it was just about perfect minus maybe a few tenths liquid. i think i actually liked the feb 5-6 event better tho i'm not really sure why, maybe just because i went down to the mall.
  13. hopefully not till i've returned from christmas.
  14. BWI record Oct daily rainfall from Sandy. BWI record low pressure, DCA close.
  15. this was actually one of the more interesting vids i came across.. the great smoky mtns EF4
  16. most of them are crappy cell phone vids that have like a 2 frame per second capture ability. these were two on that torn that had good views at least tho the rainsville one is not super close. henagar footage is pretty intense.
  17. tornadotony has a great post he gave to us comparing 1974 and 2011 http://www.ustornadoes.com/2012/04/27/a-numerical-comparison-of-the-1974-and-2011-super-outbreaks/
  18. Heh we talked about that yesterday just short on time. May update and add more with that option but not today.
  19. I pulled together videos from each violent tornado plus some stats and a Katie (mapgirl) map. http://www.ustornadoes.com/2012/04/27/videos-of-the-violent-ef-4-and-ef-5-tornadoes-on-april-27-2011/
  20. created a regional radar loop for the "main event" from late 26th thru the morning of the 28th. if you use an HD option it's clearer.
