Had 1.15 earlier b4 I left for work over in Charlottesville.. The wife just sent this from home in Waynesboro, so definitely adding to it... she mentioned some hail in it... Can see a nice lightning show off to the west of Chville now...

Steady mod/ heavy wind driven rain.... Almost a tropical stormy look to it... Looks to be about .75 in the gauge ...

A bit off topic i guess -- Maybe I'm a bit biased for mountains , but of all the regular posters in this forum, your area has to be near the top for natural beauty... Absolutely love that area from Covington out toward Lewisburg & even further out toward Charleston...

Mar 09 always runs in my memory as the storm that started one hell of a 10 year run down here... with the major exception of the 2nd Feb 2010 storm...

I remember that saying growing up in the 'hollers' lol 64 east into Charlottesville is pretty nasty... nice moderate snow falling..

Some light snow falling here in Waynesboro - low 20s ... So the air is definitely is moist enough down here right now ....

Nothing is much worse than waking up in hades late one night , then waking up 2 weeks later in VCU 100 miles away knowing that you had lost something that cannot be replaced...

It absolutely sucks for us snow lovers --- But all of us could have worse things happen to us personally , I unfortunately speak from terrifying experience...

It won this week's storm too It never wavered from a central Va west to east jack, it wound up being a bit too far south (Richmond) but the Euro was jacking northern Va and MD for awhile there.... Not trying to make a prediction for this week...
