  1. Did I mention that it's windy! Super cold. Drifts in the yard around 1ft. Not sure how much actual snow since it's just blown everywhere. Probably 3-4" actual and it's super dry and powdery so will melt fast I'm sure. Assuming Mayland kept snowing like we did, I wouldn't be surprised if @Wintersnow888 and areas there have 6". I'll probably try to drive over that way in the morning and get some pics with my actual camera. It may compact a lot tonight though.
  2. It's gotten breezy here with steady snow still coming down for the past 2-3 hours without radar visibility. Really interested to see how much the Mayland/Pleasant Hill areas end up with when all is said and done since they already had 2-3" by sunset. Can definitely tell how windy it is with the snow drifts on the front porch. Temp is 17 and feels like 2.
  3. Steady snow here again after an hour or two of flurries. Not seeing it on radar though
  4. Similar situation here. Really good January but missed an hour of really heavy snow about 1-5 miles west of here in that band and only have about 1.5" if that here but 3-4" a little west. Might get another half inch tonight but not sure.
  5. Not my pic but was on one of the roads I drove on earlier in the Mayland area of Crossville. This is the band that eventually moved down through Decatur and Athens.
  6. I might have to buy a vacation home there, only 5 miles away from my house lol. They got a lot more than us tonight.
  7. What part of Mayland? I was going down a hill on Bud Tanner and had a tough time stopping for a car stuck at the bottom lol
  8. Heck I'm considering just moving a mile west of here lol. It's finicky around here
  9. A little of the drive from Mayland to Pleasant Hill west of Crossville earlier. Ton of amount variations in very short drives based on where the band hit:
  10. I saw the band go that way though and wanted to drive over and check it out. And it's still pouring down
  11. Over there yeah, but my house is like 3 miles away and I'll has an inch or so
  12. There's around 4 inches going to Pleasant Hill. Crazy. Not bad for 2 hours. Not as much where I live because the band scooter just west
  13. Mayland has a ton of snow in spots! Will share pics when I get home. Cars in ditches too
  14. The roads are white here, but it looks like the heaviest band from Cookeville ended up going just south of here
  15. Starting to come down pretty good here now so maybe it will. It was headed directly for us from Cookeville. It isn't as breezy here though. The camera in Cookeville is now coated so you can only see a corner of the screen and it looks pretty white!
  16. Probably just better than expected. Looks like it's ripping pretty good so far:
  17. 28 here, but 35 in Cookeville and the snow is sticking for having just started 5 minutes ago.
  18. Just started coming down pretty heavily in Cookeville and that band is moving up the Plateau now toward Crossville, slowly but surely. https://putnamcountytn.gov/cookeville-live-square
  19. Seemed a lot colder than predicted last night here. It was 17 at midnight and got all the way down to 6 by around 3am, which ended up being the low. At 7am it was 8 degrees and has warmed up to 32 now.
  20. I think being on the edge helps, because Monterey and Jamestown are lower elevation than us but right on the edge of the Plateau and also get a lot of snow. Where Crossville proper is more in the middle of the Plateau. Eastern areas of the plateau don't seem to get as much snow even if they have higher elevation than us so I think it tapers off as it gets closer to Rockwood and areas like that usually. I went to town this morning also and it was pretty much clear after 3-4 miles on the interstate. This system also seemed to stay kinda north with the snow so I didn't expect anything really down there but in years where we get a lot of NW Flow events it seems like you really notice a big difference in accumulation in the above areas compared to in town or areas on the east side of the Plateau. Maybe someone in here can explain it better than me but yes, the Western Plateau seems to always do well compared to the Eastern except in certain times when a storm tracks over the southern areas more.
  21. Until this dusting, I saw flakes fall only 3 times the entire winter here (all since January 3rd) but all three events were 4-6 inches until now. So basically if it was gonna snow, it made each one of them count here for sure. Same for John's part of the Plateau I believe. Seemed like from 2017-2019 all we ever got here was very cold dry snows that added up to 1" or less each time so it's good to have actual decent storms the last couple winters again. There is a pile of snow that slid off the roof of one of the houses at work that has been there since the January 3rd snow and survived a couple big rainstorms so I figure it will last through the next two weeks most likely or longer.
  22. Dusting in Crossville from the snow early this morning. Not much but we weren't supposed to get anything anyway so it's better than nothing.
  23. Hope so, we're not really expecting anything at all though. It's 45 at my house and have been having heavy rain. Surprisingly there is still some snow on the ground from the other day through all of it. I'd be happy if we could even pull off a dusting. If somehow more, even better. EDIT: I say that but the cold front may be going through now because it's dropped 3 degrees in a five minutes.
  24. I only got to 37 yesterday and the forecast high was 45. Looked like it was only gonna get to 42 today (forecast 46) but it has warmed up to 46 now
