  1. It's 26 now here between Crossville and Monterey. The side road I'm on is now fully iced over which about three hours ago it had mostly just seemed wet. Still no real precip here to speak of other than a steady freezing drizzle.
  2. Was that forecast for you guys or was it expected to be mostly snow at this point?
  3. What kinda grass do you have? I just got a new sprayer in today to put down some preemergent. My lawn was all weeds until the last year or so because they took off the topsoil when they built it. I've worked hard on it the last year or two and it looks a lot better, but still has a fair amount of weeds that I'm trying to improve. A million times better than before though.
  4. Similar to John here but no power issues luckily. Temperature down to 27 after only topping out of at 29. If the temperatures continue to stay well below advertised like the last few days, tomorrow will be a nightmare here with ice. The grass is even slippery now and we haven't had any real precip other than sprinkles
  5. 28 in Crossville, temperature hasn't moved much one way or the other since Midnight. This time yesterday our projected high for today was 37. Now it is 31.
  6. 27 in Crossville already too. Another night where they are off by several degrees. Hopefully that trend can continue for a couple days.
  7. Just like last week's big snow, they will ignore it until it goes away (or gets warmer)
  8. Yeah that's the reason and due to a slight mist. Are you in the Cumberland Cove area?
  9. Been 28 here in Crossville for the last several hours. High today was supposed to be 39 with a low of 30, but it never got above 31 here. Everything is coated in a glaze of ice currently.
  10. 30 here. Projected high was 39. I'd say they missed it pretty bad for sure. Not sure if it will make any difference for Monday but hopefully.
  11. Yeah we had an ice storm on the 16th of that year too and I thought it was bad at the time, but looking back it was nothing at all compared to the one five days later. You guys are all definitely overdue for a big snow storm out there though and hopefully it'll come soon.
  12. Same. And I'm sure the ones that were hoping for a lot of ice would've been wishing otherwise if it had actually happened. We had over an inch here in February 2015 and it was not fun at all. We had to stay in hotels all week in Cookeville and they jacked up the rates since they knew almost everyone in Crossville had no power (and hotels were full in Crossville). Then we got back and had to throw away all our food and had insult added to injury by getting a $450 electric bill somehow despite having no power for a week. Major ice storms are miserable even for winter lovers. Hopefully the storm early next week will overperform for the middle and western areas but be all snow. Whatever falls will stick around for a few days at least.
  13. It seems like this storm hasn't put down near as much ice as expected...is that correct?
  14. Wintersnow888 is between Crossville/Monterey like me. Looks like it'll be on the eastern edge of the front currently
  15. I don't think they ever even issued one here and it was obvious by 11pm that night it was gonna snow for several more hours and we already had a couple inches at that point. Ended up being the biggest snow in 5 years here and was a WWA.
  16. I hope not. That would be extremely unusual to have Cookeville get 0.65" of ice and Crossville just get rain though.
  17. If that verified in Cumberland County it would be our second ice storm in 6 years of over an inch of ice :/
  18. That's an odd looking setup. Are the "clear" areas in the middle part of the state snow or something? Or a warm nose with cold rain?
  19. A hazy sunrise before work this morning. Now it's cloudy again.
  20. Yeah believe it or not mine used to go out more when I lived in town compared to living in the woods here lol. Sometimes I'll have power but a next door neighbor will be out due to being on a different grid that's not part of the 3 phase
  21. Here too. Luckily our power almost never goes out here due to the three phase that runs to a nearby business. The only times I can remember it going out for more than an hour or so was the 2015 ice storms and the tornados last March.
  22. Nice pics! Did you ever get your power back? Ours was only off for 1.5 hours luckily.
  23. We had some freezing fog earlier I guess and it made the trees look even cooler here
  24. It's been foggy and cloudy here ever since it quit this morning. Power just came back on as well luckily.
  25. This happens a lot near Crossville. Usually the Western parts of the County where the Plateau starts get double what the town proper gets. It's like the snow just smacks in to the edge of the Plateau and then spreads what's left eastward from there. Monterey and Cookeville is a great example of this. Monterey has had 4+ inches of snow many times when 10 miles away in Cookeville there is none or a dusting. It's crazy to me that they are in the same school system with how different the weather is.
