  1. Just started in Cookeville too and is coming down hard;
  2. Check now, it's coming down decently here now, but the flakes aren't very big.
  3. The Virga here has transitioned into baby snowflakes
  4. We have a heavy virga storm here West of Crossville currently. It's coming down hard. I measured 1/2" of virga in only 20 minutes.
  5. I'm not sure how much we ended up with here between Crossville and Monterey, but after I went to bed it must've blew around all over the place as well as melting some. Some areas had a dusting and others were almost a foot deep. It wasn't as pretty on the trees as a lot of the wet snows due to the wind, but for literally being the first flakes I've seen all winter it was a good snow. If I had to guess I would say 4-6" total here which was originally forecast to be 1-2" even though the models seemed to consistently suggest 4-8". NWS Nashville finally put us under a Winter Storm Warning after it stopped snow in middle of the night lol.
  6. Supposedly they debated it this evening right as it started snowing, but never pulled the trigger. Seems like anymore here we get the worst storms under WWAs and the WSWs almost always way underperform here.
  7. Westbound I-40 closed in Monterey (going down the mountain to Cookeville) due to multi-vehicle accident half an hour ago.
  8. Going to bed for now, but starting to remind me of the February 7th event here in Crossville. We were under a WWA for 1-3" in that one as well and ended up with around 6-8" of heavy wet snow at daybreak. Hopefully that happens again because it's still pouring down. We probably have 3-4" now and an inch or two on the roads.
  9. Snow has picked up here in Crossville and looks like the interstate is a slow go between here and Monterey. Roads are covered completely.
  10. No clue, saw it on Facebook. Could be state highway 62 or 70 though since they both run through there. Just a guess.
  11. About an hour or more early here! And once it starts I don't see it going back to rain esp with the heavier rates coming.
  12. TWC Doesn't show the changeover at my house until around 11pm, but it's been all snow here as of 9:30 CT. Which is good if it stays that way because the heaviest returns look to arrive during the 10pm hour in Crossville so better to be snow than rain.
  13. That's weird, you're a little west of me and maybe slightly higher elevation so I figured you'd be all snow before me. Maybe the precip is harder here causing Dynamic Cooling? My temp also shows 35 lol. But my gauge is usually off a couple degrees.
  14. Somehow after a ton of rain last night and 50+ on Sunday we still have a little left in heavily shaded areas. And this "line" of snow that slid off the roof and has been there all month lol. Tomorrow is supposed to be mid 50s so I doubt it survives any longer.
  15. Would've been another 7-9" incher if it stayed snow I think. It started at 1.5" per hour rates and right as the heaviest stuff on radar came through it went to all rain. I'm still very happy with it considering it was supposed to be 45 and raining here last night until a couple days ago.
  16. Yeah I was gonna say it seemed like a complete junk winter for middle and west TN till this week. And it seemed like most of East TN had a good one (except Chattanooga and a few other areas)
  17. That's probably a better description of what's been falling here. Definitely a lot of freezing rain as well. There's almost no ice on the trees surprisingly though.
  18. I still have sleet...I would even call it snow, mixing in. But it's like the very last gasp of a snowflake before turning into a raindrop lol.
  19. Yeah exactly, me too. I think on Sunday our high was showing 46 here for today with an inch of rain. We have been on the good side of the "busts" this year for sure.
  20. Definitely was (and still is...just wrong ptype) pumping it down fast. Would've been a cool one to see in the daylight. TWC shows Monterey randomly going back to snow at 3-4AM before it ends (light amounts). We are still 31 here but Crossville is reporting 32 and freezing rain.
