  1. Boom on the digital snow for western folks. Not ideal, way off in lala land.. but wow! Boom!
  2. Only received 0.36 inches last night for rain. We are still hurting bad here in Western Loudoun.
  3. This is why you are missed, Bob! You were a "voice in the wilderness" that had great stuff to share and I learned so much from you! You are right on leaving the group and moving on as it is a time suck and people only seem to hear what they want to hear letting emotion override. I am glad I was part of the group when you posted regularly and continue to miss your insights! Despite this, I would only want what is best for you or anyone else. I agree I am also too emotional a commenter, but the voice of reason helped a lot! Thanks for this post! It was great! Stay healthy and appreciate all you did share in the past! - You are an AMWX all-star in my book!
  4. Things will shake out! Timing and details on waves and connections will come together if we get the pattern. Trust the process and not the models. We know the elements and what needs to be on the pond to get the ducks in a row. We are in the shuffle period.. I worry like all that the timing will be a mess, but I am hopeful we will see things pan out as we hope. Time will tell... not models! I am very pessimistic that things happen sooner rather than later! Also, that long-range seemed to do the storm track off the coast! But I am certain we have not seen anything close to what will happen, except for some persistent cold not too far away! The dry trend is what bothers me most!
  5. Your gotta have one to get the other. Maybe it seems like wasted cold but keeping the atmosphere and surface colder can only help our chances. It is frustrating to see wasted cold. I do, however, like winter acting cold and even without snow it is welcome
  6. But if nothing comes of it, will he say.. We were the first to be wrong? Nope. We will see if this means anything. These warmings do not always do what we want
  7. Ended up with exactly 1.80 inches. The lake rose and has water flowing into it for the first time in a while
  8. That heavy rain came together on top of me. Still raining hard! 1.64 inches so far!! That line looks so intense!
  9. Trying to get the ducks on the pond. I see the better-looking pattern Saturday/Sunday - Maybe something comes up that is not clear yet. Enjoying the watch as we actually have stuff to watch. May not mean a thing, but not boring!
  10. Look, it is the same every year! When things look like they are trending wrong for our need of rain, cold, snow.. people are going to speak up. This is a definite trend on the last few model runs. Dryer systems has been a trend for many months now, so we should not be surprised. It stinks when we see these things happen, and we will express that. I agree I need to be less emotionally charged, but these Thanksgiving colder outlooks have failed multiple times the last few years. I think this should make me and others to take changes with caution. It stinks! Changing airmasses and patterns are likely to have problems! You do not need to stick around.. and but I will work on better posts!
  11. Ya.. I DO NOT like the trends. Not saying models have it figured out, but lately, when they do, things turn dry and less cold.
  12. The models are like the budget passers! They never deliver what they say when they say the will and kick the cold and potential storms down the road. Here we go again! I have seen this time and time again! HOWEVER, I would not mind seeing some flakes next week.. but soon we may get barely any precip and it could be a dry frontal passage! I hope not! My pessimism is rising.
  13. Wow! This does not look like an El Nino map to me!
  14. Let's keep getting snowpack in the source regions! https://x.com/RyanMaue/status/1724988203868766690?s=20
  15. 0z kind of took some wind out of my sail. I am not surprised and expect a lot of wild swings in the long range. I just want to track a legit system. It has been too long
  16. So I went on a walk the last hour and before I started I looked at the temperature and was surprised to see it in the low 50s. I thought my Guage must be wrong and asked Alexa the temperature and she said 37 degrees. I went outside to a mild evening. Started walking nd wend down a hill and it was like a wall of cold hit me. Immediately I was blowing steam and the temperature was cold. I started out of the little dip and just as dramatically the temperature rose. This happened a few more times on my hour walk. Quite the inversion out there. 52 at my house.. Drove the car and the temp in the dips is around 40! You can see it on this temp plot. One note, there is a slight breeze at my home but none in those dips!
  17. That looks like some true cold coming into the US close to Thanksgiving
  18. The fog is crazy out my way and temps below freezing now. Not a good thing. 31.5 degrees and 98% humidity. It looks cool as it really is ground fog.
  19. We need rain, but these fall days are glorious! 45 for a low! Up to 58 already!
  20. Ya. he was not happy. Fixed it for the future views.
