    I felt the same way when we went through the late 90s snow drought. Then Jan 2000 came.

    Realistically, we have about 45 days from Jan 1 to Feb 15. After that, it starts getting springish and our chances fade. Dont have long windows to waste around here.

    Don’t worry folks! We will get a warm Jan Feb and frozen ponds in March. We’re very good at cold springs for the past several years.

    Kind of interesting to see 61 degrees graded with a light red temperature hue. Seems odd.

    The warm anomolies are largely from big spikes ahead of cold fronts, not the SER setting up shop. Warmth is transient it appears.

    While RDU did not freeze this morning, many — if not most — rural areas nearby did hit 32. RDU is a heat island these days.
