Yea because rain is so much fun. People got interested in weather in the first place because of snowstorms and severe weather and not your typical warm and wet, so it makes sense that many people here want the white stuff.
Made it down to 12 last night, 20 right now after a high of 34. Looking like around an inch Sunday night. I'll take anything right now. 1.5 inches so far this season.
I wouldn't count on a clipper giving anything measurable in this area. When was the last time a clipper dumped an inch or 2 in NYC Metro. I honestly can't remember. Looks to me the next 10 days is going to be cold but with little precip.
46 with light rain and only .65 so far. Hoping for a little white stuff and some minor accums up here in MHV in Dutchess county. Just east of river and elevation of only 200' so not expecting much but would be cool to see some flakes.
31 with light snow. Almost over here in Dutchess county. Picked up 2 inches. Never got into the heavier bands but something is better than nothing. 17.5 for the season.
They updated the forecast late this afternoon from 7-13 to 4-8 but nearly every piece of guidance shows barely anything. I think it's pretty obvious where this is going. I actually wouldn't be surprised if we got only a dusting. They also didn't update the briefing from 4:30am that shows Poughkeepsie area getting 8-12. It's just strange.
So I'm 20 miles north of 84 in western Dutchess county and NWS Albany still has a winter storm warning for a total of 4-8 inches. They also haven't updated a storm briefing from 4am today. Are they smoking something? I'm thinking 1-3/2-4 max . I would love to know what they are thinking.
