  1. Snow started and picked up quick. S mixture of huge and tiny flakes. 36/29. Stupid warm. .
  2. Days 3-5 Alta Snowbird. Day 4 was an epic powder day. They opened Mineral Basin just as we’re got there and we got 5 epic powder runs. We liked Alta and loved Snowbird. So many chutes, gullies, bowls! Double blacks everywhere. Took the keyhole from Alta to Snowbird. So much fun!!!
  3. Day 2 - Deer Valley. 25” fresh but we got there late since SLC got their biggest storm in 10 years supposedly. We got about 16” in Draper at our AirBnB. Great sprawling ski area with great trees and cruisers. Some decent steeps but not a lot. .
  4. Utah was awesome last week! Pow. Pow pow!!! We skied 5 days straight. Day 1 - Snowbasin. 15” of freshies, much falling while we were there. Fun mountain. The lodges are ridiculous! .
  5. Woot woot! Great mountains! Skied Bachelor, Hood Meadows and Hoodoo on 2 different trips. Very unique mountains with different feels than the Rockies. Glad you had a blast! .
  6. Heading to Salt Lake City tomorrow to sample some of their patented fluff n stuff. Skiing Tue-Sat at the Ikon mountains. Should be quite the adventure. .
  7. Some of my favorite ski days of all time were at Hood Meadows. Heather Canyon and Clark Canyon are just plain epic. Never felt so small lol. Hood is a beast of a mountain. Enjoy!
  8. Time for Killington to start loading up Superstar. Base isn’t currently deep on it. .
  9. Wow, looks amazing! On my wish list now! Keep hearing how awesome it is. Great pics!! .
  10. Killington was fun today. No lines. They opened Outer limits with a ton of snow guns going. It was so fun! Definitely get the burn. Killington also had a ton of natural trails open that were pretty thin. My skis survived too lol. Most of the brown is leaves and grass. Not as bad as it looks. The 11” really helped conditions but that boiler plate lurks beneath and shows is ugly face in places. .
  11. I’m skiing solo at Killington tomorrow if anyone is going and wants to meet up lmk. .
  12. That much snow on / around my house would stress me out lol. I guess they know how to deal with it out there. .
  13. That’s great news for them. They have not been doing well the last decade. .
  14. Cool, thanks for the info. Gotta figure out my retirement celebration ski trip Winter 24/25. Austria is definitely on my list. .
  15. I heard food, lift tickets and lodging are very reasonable in Austria. What was your experience? .
  16. WTF!?!? That’s absurd! I used to pay that for a lift ticket! .
  17. Thinking of going to Stratton tomorrow. Is it worth it? Icy and long lines ain’t my jam. Amy first hand info from VT skiing this weekend would be appreciated. .
  18. Awesome video! Fortunately I’ll be in SLC in Feb, but Unfortunately we’re staying at the base of the canyon so I’m if there are deep days I probably won’t be able to get there lol. 6 nights lodging in SLC same as 1 night at Alta or Snowbird!
  19. My son is in grad school in Oregon so I’ve skied Bachelor and Hood Meadows. Both are amazing for different reasons. Avoid Timberline…. Boring as heck. Bachelor is huge and when the summit lift is open it’s pretty epic. Not really any extreme stuff, but lots of great cruisers, trees and meadows. Get on the road from Bend early on buddy days as the access road can get crowded. Hood Meadows is epic! Heather and Clark canyon are some of the coolest places that I have skied. So huge, you feel like a speck lol. Some really fun steeps too. They are gate access and then there is s lift to take you out at the bottom. Skiing under Mt. Hood is Awe inspiring. We also skied Hood Ski Bowl one day. No frills, old lifts but done really great terrain. Hoodoo is fun too! One day there. Super cheap. I think Thursdays are like $25 at Hoodoo. .
  20. Alps seem to be in worse shape that the Northeast! Only about half the ski areas are even open! .
  21. Alta and Snowbird were closed all day with interlodge in effect. Highway closed. No skiing! Insane. Avalanche teams working overtime. Must be intense to be there. I’m staying in SLC in Feb. Staying at Alta or Snowbird was so much more expensive. Our Air BnB total price for 6 nights was what one night cost at the mountains lol. Wonder how many people are stranded there and sleeping in the lodge. And they can’t ski. Different world out there! .
  22. Windham was great today. Soft snow, no ice, low 50’s, but snow is taking a beating. Lots of thin spots and the snow was melting fast. Warm nights and rain gonna do a number on what’s left. .
  23. Stratton was fantastic today. So tired!! .
  24. Dumping parachutes now. 32/31. Drippy sloppy spring snow feel. .
