GFS is throwing warning criteria snows into the twin cities.
Not sure what to expect atm.
One thing is for certain we have all the cold air needed. Even with full sun only got to 16 here today.
Recent model trends are showing plowable snow for the twin cities. Starting to get cautiously optimistic we’ll have a few inches by Saturday afternoon.
Woke up to a WSW for 3-5” followed by bitter cold. Have they lowered the standards for hoisting watches or is this just to get the message out to the public before a WWA is posted?
I’ll have to double check but I believe our WC criteria is -30F. We were supposed to switch to tablets years ago but they are still sitting on my supervisors desk, honestly I prefer using paper, I can keep my gloves on.
At least the lack of snowcover will moderate temps somewhat here. Monday is looking frigid but still warm enough to work outside, company policy is air temp of -10F or below we stay inside.
Grew up slightly silver spoon-fed in Bannockburn. Moms got Dementia so they snowbird at a gated community in the Coachella Valley and summers in HP.
Back on topic, getting some light snow on the west side of town.
My parents downsized a few years ago to a place right by Ravinia in Highland Park. Gotta ask my old man for the ring camera password so I can snoop on conditions.
