    As a Wolfpack alum that had many a snowball fight in the quad, I find this stunning. I can see a year, or maybe two, but three full years?? I think we had heavy snow every year I was in Raleigh.

    Anyone have a current rain total in Winston / GSO? You can literally stand and watch the creeks rising up onto several roads where I live. It is noticeably fast.

    River and creek levels are getting ready to pop tomorrow night and Friday as all of this runoff makes its way east. 5-7" over most of the area in a 24 hour period? Yeah, expect some shocking videos. Emergency response calls for equipment started coming in this morning. Lots of folks already flooded out of their homes down south. This is going to get ugly for a couple days.

    Exactly. Those folks are probably screaming at this point. If you were on AA 1788 from PHX to TPA, I want to interview you!

    How in the world are all these flights still landing at TPA??? There are a couple of AA flights basically in the storm! No chance in hell I'm on that one.

    Likely not enough time to optimize the core structure before she runs out of fuel. Like Beryl, this could be another miss by a few extra hours over water.

    Easter weekend golfing in Pinehurst many years ago and the temps were cold enough on the tee box to cause a heavy frost delay and crack some hand bones when you made contact with that little white ice cube. It can definitely happen. Oh the irony if we could squeak out a trace of snow for a good portion of NC.

    Mama nature is going to run my well dry again this year trying to grow corn. Can't even fill my extra water tanks I added. Our string of luck has been so bad that when the dam finally breaks on our winter weather we might just have a historic snowfall event. (it could also signal the beginning of the ice age)

    Headed for the 4th warmest February on record for the US. If AI can improve our long range modeling then I'm all for it cuz the CPC Seasonals didn't show this coming. I'm at the point where I don't trust a forecast whether it is from the CPC, WPC, NOAA, NWS or any other acronym you want to toss out. They're all wrong. I'm seriously going to dig out the Farmer's Almanac this afternoon and see if that was even close.

    Had to come all the way to the Grand Canyon this week to find some snow. Got to see it snowing sideways twice yesterday, ripping fatties as we like to say back home. I guess I'll survive 200 more days until the winter thread comes alive again. Until then, enjoy your weeds, bugs and humidity.

    The pond dried up and the ducks flew away. As long as we end up with an extended spring well into June/July that might partially ease the pain. I do like me some 60s in June and 70s in July.

    Finally made it to South Dakota this week and yes I saw some old snow patches on the ground. But I have also been working outside in a short sleeve shirt under some beautiful blue skies and a little pink on my face from the sun. No cold in sight here either. Maybe we'll have a March Miracle. But Fab Feb is done before it ever got started.

    We're done. Towel thrown. I've seen this movie dozens of times it seems. We'll get to Valentines Day and then commence fretting that Marvelous March is going to torch. Time to finish up the tractor maintenance. We'll be planting early this year!

    I dont see any of this accumulating outside of the higher mountains. Just the token flakes. EDIT - I stand corrected! Just checked the farm cams in Stuart and the ground is covered!!

    Still plenty of flurries in Stuart VA. 1,400 ft elev. Taking on a little more width and looking like flakes.
