  1. Those folks in that line just south of the Triad are having an interesting day. I posted earlier thinking the hammer was about to drop again just north of I40 and we didnt get a drop. Towers went up right outside my back door and then crept south. But as others have mentioned, what a difference in temps!! 78°, cloudy and a slight breeze. Gotta mow!
  2. And once again the hammer is getting dropped on Forsyth County. I've been trying to mow my yard for 4 days now. Non-moving thunderstorm blowing up overhead as we speak. Deluge inbound.
  3. Fantastic! I'll be in Jacksonville FL all week. Looks to be the hottest place on the planet. Just what I needed. I must be in a microclimate here in Forsyth County the last week or so. It seems like it has rained every day. Its raining now! We had FFWs in Winston 2 nights ago. I dont need much more rain right now, but I'm sure many do. 13 weeks to October. Countdown underway.......
  4. Hasnt been created in our forum yet. May be one in the LA, TX and west forum. Probably not much for us to track here other than a general discussion. If Barry decides to shift towards the apps and spin for a while it will get much more interesting.
  5. Gauges are maxed out on the mississippi. A foot or more of rain along with a 3' storm surge, and possible tropical storm force winds slowing down the river outflow (even for a few hours) = disaster again for the French Quarter and various low spots around the city. Hope these people truly learned their lesson from Katrina and evac early. No excuses this time around.
  6. Seeing some hints around the interwebs of a cooler than normal, less humid spell coming in the 10 day range. I'm so dang busy I have no time to play in the weather, much less watch models, so I'll leave it to the experts here. Any truth to this coming July Ice Age?
  7. When that storm came through Kernersville earlier today the wind was strong enough to blow the rain bands out ahead of the storm. It was raining sideways with the sun still out for about a minute. Havent seen that before.
  8. If there was such a thing as a humidity ridge the ensembles would be showing that for sure cuz I'm kinda feelin' like we're sitting right under a luke warm water faucet right now. We just can't win here with weather anymore. I don't need 3 months of humid and wet. I had that last year.
  9. Line that just went through the Triad was amping up the whole time. Very heavy rain, maybe some pea size hail and some solid lighting activity. Radar is loaded. Wouldnt want to be in central and eastern NC today if all of these cells start going severe.
  10. Hope not. I am under it as we speak!
  11. I was hoping these storms would set up just east of the Triad as often happens. Not today. Some good looking cells kicking off just east of the mountains and I have a warning here in Stuart already today. Could be a hail damage kinda day!
  12. Perfect. Early cold flip, then another December Destroyer snow storm, and then.....well, we know what happens next. I give this prediction a 99.8% chance of verifying. The .02 leaves room for a Yellowstone eruption.
  13. I see the head of a two tone young cow. The grayed out snout is east of SC, then the eye with the white striped forehead just to the west of the eye, and then the ear is the little loop just to the east of where the forehead stripe ends. On another note, I need brighter security lights up at the house in Stuart VA. The only lights in that half of VA is in Roanoke!
  14. I know this isnt covering the Triad, but dang it sure feels like a thunderstorm kinda day. I just need some rain.....cant believe I just said that.
  15. As long as it crushes any SER and keeps my yard from turning crispy this summer I will happily accept a few early storms.
  16. Dang Jeremy, you're famous!!! You made national news and the DrudgeReport front page with these pics! Hope there are some royalties with that. You just received hundreds of millions of impressions!
  17. So you're saying there isn't going to be a mid to long term in 2019???!! Man I hope you are wrong. Or else all this hard work I am doing right now is for naught. Please let me know if you think we only have a few days, or maybe weeks left. So much to do, so little time!! If you want to go kill the winter thread, that's ok.
  18. Storm watches have been posted by RAH and Blacksburg. Now up to almost 80 here in the triad.
  19. It stayed cloud covered so long this morning in the Triad that I thought for sure we were in the clear. Now sitting in a hot sun, 76° and watching some towers starting to rise back towards winston. Could get interesting!
  20. There's an obvious reason. This thing panning out to anything more than a minor ooh and ahh type event is one step short of powerball odds. (Ok,ok, maybe getting struck by lightning) I mean really, we're talking about Mack and Shetley getting snow, together, on the same day, in April.
  21. Just remember, whoever starts a storm thread for this has to deal with the humiliation until December.
  22. Please dont do this to yourselves. Have some dignity. Cold rain is what we shall have, and nothing more. Our December snow broke the models. The FV3 hasnt been right since.
  23. Are you guys seriously playing Charlie Brown football again??? I come back expecting to find some discussion around Apr-June rainfall expectations and found this nonsense. April snow? Sure! Happens all the time.....in the mountains. Otherwise, dont torture yourselves. The grass is green, the sun is warm and the skies are blue.
  24. I'll see your superstition and raise you, it thundered yesterday here in the triad.
  25. Dont get suckered in man. Just plant those flowers and move on with spring.
