    FWIW, someone else enjoying a snowstorm or being correct shouldn't take the shine off of yourself, know what I mean? We can all be wrong in life at times. I don't understand why I should be annoyed if someone who lives down the shore or up in the mountains enjoys something I can't enjoy at that very moment.

    Isn't that amazing how that still happens as often as it does? C'est la vie.

    I like it when it's cold and dry and the snow squeaks underfoot. Only happens when it's been cold and dry for a while with powdery snow. I've had that while taking the dog out.

    Honestly, thank goodness. We got a dusting here and I hope that's it. I just wish the snow could have happened some in January and not as much now, but what can you do?

    We’ve had about 36” (give or take) so far here this month. It’s crazy. That’s my pathway carve out. .

    I was thinking that! It has shades of that. Just condense January and February of that winter into this month. That one will always be near and dear to my heart, but this past ten days has given me thoughts of it.

    That’s what happens close the ocean. FWIW, I cannot wait for the snow to slowly melt away. The parking lot at the Trader Joe’s in Florham Park is down to about 2/3 capacity because of the snow removal having nowhere to go. You can’t see around the piles. .

    Right? I don’t live there, but if it makes other people happy, it doesn’t take away from your own happiness. I will be pleased if we get a little conversational snow tomorrow in Morristown that doesn’t add to potential roof issues or future flooding concerns. .

    I just had more than two feet of snow followed by a bonus inch (that’s what she said). If it misses me, I’m thankful. .

    Morris County is about that 3-6 range, so it doesn't qualify for a watch at this point. To be honest, I would be fine with it hitting elsewhere. I'd like my roof, downspouts, and drains to have ample time to melt. We had a general 1-2" quick hitter this morning (melted already, but still).

    Good to know; I will check out that book. Always find readings like that fascinating. As for the mechanical resonance, I'm just thinking of the slender structure. It seems like it would be prone to it.

    That’s an amazing delta. We’re at 31° with moderate to heavier snow, and MMU isn’t that far inland. .

    I’m not a structural engineer, but how can this come to a surprise to anyone anywhere? I read this and love how people are shocked - SHOCKED! - that physics rears it’s ugly head when you’re over a thousand feet off the ground on a coastal plain. .
