  1. What’s the timing on this? I’m flying into EWR Sunday. TIA. .
  2. Probably because they’re generally too negative and you’re often too positive. Not right or wrong. The truth is usually somewhere in the middle. .
  3. Even though looking at this is about as coherent to me as listening to the nanny in Muppet Babies is, it’s tradition at this point to throw in the towel when it looks unfavorable. Truth is, we really don’t know. We have trends and likelihoods, but more than week out, we truly can’t be certain. .
  4. I think that AGW does its part in regards from us hitting .285 (above league average) to .255 (league average), while non-AGW stuff is we’ve had some hard hit balls that were just in the wrong spot, and therefore caught. So, it’s still very possible, even if a little less likely from both warming and bad luck. .
  5. I think you're right. We got lucky in my spot since February 2021 was bonkers for snow, but that was it in five years. I think we (and especially the younger crew around here) are just witnessing the reality of what it's like living here in regards to snow and cold, even without the background warming state. It's either feast (4'+ here in February 2021) or famine (every other month the past five years).
  6. Super helpful for the simple-minded folk such as myself, thank you! .
  7. Questioning why people are here fighting over things they can’t control? .
  8. I’m going this week! 77° on Saturday with Sun and clouds. .
  9. That’s amazing. Thank you for sharing. I love them. [emoji267] .
  10. Right? And I don’t think any of us know if it’s all AGW or cyclical or both. March *seems* to have been a lot more pleasant in the recent past. I just know from my kids’ baseball teams that March is usually now chilly, grey, and muddy with flurries and rain. I do think we’re having some recency bias on September since it was hot the first week of this past September. I’ve always found September to be the best weather of the year. Makes fall sports for the kids very enjoyable. .
  11. [emoji817]and March is much more miserable (even including snow chances outside of the city) than I recall as a kid. .
  12. Exactly, but it *should* improve, as it works through more and more efficiencies in the coming years. Think of how good electric cars are today versus how poor they were ten or twelve years ago… I mean, look at a 2010 Chevy Bolt versus a late model Tesla S that includes fast charging. The world is changing before our eyes. .
  13. Always love your analysis! I *think* we're underplaying the ability to capture and store carbon in the near future; remember, internal combustion engines were significantly improved in emissions and particle emissions by the catalytic converter. (If you're ever around classic cars or the Tomorrowland Speedway or two cycle leaf blowers/lawn mowers, you can immediately smell gas engines sans catalytic converters) I think we significantly underplay our ingenuity to form the planet, in both bad and good ways. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
  14. I just started reading this thread this morning and was excited when I saw it was HOT! Like maybe a snowstorm? Little did I know that winter was cancelled.
  15. It just started accumulating in the sides of the yard as well as it was ending. .
  16. [emoji3595][emoji3595][emoji3595] That, and social media being our id, so we say things sans filters when frustrated. .
  17. Bingo. That and the reality of AGW amplifying a lousy pattern. It’s like a cake that already has too much salt in it and you proceed to sprinkle more salt on top of it instead of powdered sugar. .
