  1. Eh, it’s the same conversations every year, like clockwork. .
  2. His enthusiasm is terrific, but he’s just having a moment. Let him process it. 100% on it’s not as bad as you think. I know a lot of people have mentioned we’ve been spoiled the past 25 years, so when you regress to the mean, it just sucks. You hit .300 for the year? That means you could have hit .450 for three months and .150 for the other three! That .150 is going to hurt. .
  3. This is like the stages of grief, my friend. .
  4. Yea… but it didn’t snow for many the rest of the winter. .
  5. 100% this. Enjoy the time with your loved ones. We can't control things, so it's best to enjoy what's in front of us. It's great to admit that you were wrong, but I wouldn't say it can't snow at this point of the year. That's just frustration speaking. In the past 15 years, we had October, November, and December storms. During those years, it didn't seem to snow much in March. That flipped for now, and it will likely flip again, but we have no idea when. It reminds me of when I was a kid, and thinking it would *never* snow. Ever. My dad told me to be patient. My elementary years coincided with 1987-1993, so it didn't have a major snowstorm until March of my fifth grade year. It happens and it drives us nuts.
  6. Was just thinking about this… we’re forecasted to have a warm Christmas, and we’re all annoyed about it and feel like we’re going on No Snow Part II. Last year, we had a frigid Christmas… and it still didn’t snow for many the remainder of the season. Maybe it’ll work out. Granted, do I have any idea of which I am speaking of? I do not. Just mentioning how things sometimes have a funny way of working themselves out. .
  7. They said there'll be snow at Christmas They said there'll be peace on Earth But instead it just kept on raining .
  8. Geez. Literally the trade-off of having an advancing civilization, which allows us to instantaneously have these very pleasant conversations across long distances. (I do have hope and believe that we will find a way to cleanse more carbon out of the air and sequester it during our lifetimes, even if it’s at the end.) .
  9. Gotcha. Just seems boring more than anything. .
  10. That’s wild. Really interesting information. I wonder how much is AGW/UHI/other cyclical factors, like coming out of the little ice age. .
  11. That made me legitimately laugh out loud. .
  12. Honest question, how is this a torch? It looks dull and seasonable more than anything. It’s not cold, it’s not snow, and it’s not memorable. (You did say signs, so I’m assuming it’s going to trend warmer?) .
  13. He’s a very smart poster. Always an interesting read. .
  14. Close! We were there for a bit yesterday. Staying in New Smyrna Beach. .
  15. If not that, it’s a career for some, so it pays the bills. .
  16. And for a lot of people, such as JB and others, being sensational pays the bills. .
  17. I really don’t understand why people revel in always being warm or always insisting the next ice age is right around the corner. It *feels* like it’s the social media driver of our id that subconsciously insists that we vanquish our dissenters. .
  18. In Florida the past few days. 74° and sunny right now, going to 80° today. Flying home tonight prior to the storm. Beautiful here. I understand why people snowbird. .
