I am super excited. I could see that trending south so we could see a couple flakes mixed in with the rain at 2am in the morning. What a time to be alive in a year where we are getting average to above average snowfall. So blessed.

You guys are right. the winter is well above normal. March snow is amazing. Its been pretty cold this year. A 1 inch snowstorm is very significant and now I am tracking a few sleet pellets for March with ecstasy. This is exciting. I am so happy. We've been so blessed with all these cold stormy winter the last couple years. Record cold and snow. So blessed. So blessed. Life is just amazing. I am done. , people are now offended by the slightest bit of negativity. ts really snowflaky.

I specifically remember March 2013, after snowquester, people went on the deep end. Literally. Profanity laced tirades a plenty. Randy said he was going to eat another papa johns pizza and crawl into a state of despair. I 110% remember that. That has been replaced by people saying "this is normal" and getting angry at complainers telling them to "get real problems" etc. So what changed? Did people stop loving snow as much?

Im fine. It healthy to release frustration. Even my therapist says as much. Not good to bottle it up at all. Its hilarious though that now you can't even complain in a banter thread on a weather forum where people love snow during a year that is rivaling one of our worst winters. I am not the one with issues it seems. The complaints back in the easternuxwx days use to be lengedary. During winters where we had a ton more snow than this year. What happened to you guys? When did it become offensive to complain?

The only thing coming here, is spring. Snow controls my mood. Lack of snow seriously depresses me. It is what it is. Not like I don't have more important things to worry about either. Snow makes it all better. Zero snow for the entire year is tough.

I like how positive you are. We are having a record smashing bad winter where every single thing is out of aliment for snow. Not just snow, record warmth as well. With no end in sight. Yet, you are like "Yeh man winter is here!!!"

February Medium/Long Range Discussion

If you want to use that storm as the basis to justify the last 4 years as being "normal". No. It isn't. Besides, that wasn't the point. The jackpot was so small that even though it happened north of DC, BWI (which is south of Baltimore) only managed 6.6. That is a very small compact area. -

That map really shows just how isolated the significant snowfall was. Even BWI only got 6.6. No its not a bad storm for DC, but when thats all you have to show for the last 4 years....well.... it is why DC will probably have its worst 4 year snowless stretch in the history of record keeping. -
Thats a cool pic! When a 1 in 50 year storm like that comes along, I would agree, its nice. But even then, its not Jan or Feb snow, winter is over. I think it was in like the 60's a few days later and the snow evaporates. 99% of March snow is called "if only" snow, as in "if only this happened during the winter".
-
Its over. It never began. Most people are in spring mode because that is what is coming. No one cares about tracking bad patterns and rainstorms in winter. This is 97-98 all over. And march snow does suck. Maybe not on some 1000 ft hill e (which is where I assume you are). But try living on I-95 and then report back to me on your success with March snows. I

Go to give you credit, you pretty much called this winter a complete dud in late December and you were spot on. -
There is the white flakey stuff falling from the sky. Not sure what it is.....
-
I 100% agree. I can't really argue it because you nailed it. This was something I was going to say during our climo argument but just never really got to it. Plus you kind of tossed in the "atmospheric memory" stuff which made me doubt myself. That being said, stats still have meaning, and the odds of getting a year with less than the .6 inches we have here in Delaware (assuming we don't get anymore snow), and having it be back to back, has to got to be astronomically low. Could it happen? Sure. Aliens could also technically show up at my house too.

On the plus side of things, it can't really get any worse. Next winter is guaranteed to be better. Only need an inch of snow to beat it.

Don in the NYC thread said that since 1950, when we had the positive NAO/AO/and negative PNA, the most NYC ever got was 2 inches. -
The Winter of 2019-2020 Stinks - Let's Complain
RevWarReenactor replied to WeatherPSU's topic in Mid Atlantic
I am glad this weekend's event pooped the bed. Don't need warm, a consolation 2 inches of snow, then more warm. Lets shut out the rest of this winter and have it be the worst 4 year stretch ever. Then we can finally get away from all the "this is normal" chatter. -
Blazing hot summer with 100+ temps, strong T-Storms weekly, and a Hurricane to cause minor damage. A freezing cold winter with 50+ inches of snow and a Blizzard or 2. A nice spring and fall in between that lasts at least 2 months each. Maybe a Spring or Fall flood or an Oct Hurricane. I love the extremes. Sadly the weather here doesn't usually deliver any of the above. Its been a very long stretch of boring.

Not everyone who objects is puritan. What consenting adults do in the confines of the law is fine by me. But no thanks when watching programming with family. Its not necessary. Its gross in fact.
-
You aren't wrong. But I still think its never too late to correct a mistake.

Sooooo....it was a lot more than shaking hips. Open leg crotch grab closeups shots. Grinding on the guys you know what...., the tongue action closeups, even posting examples on here would probably be in violation of our TOS (I've seen ass shots removed at Eastern). This will be my last post since I don't want to get into it....but geez. On family programming? It was a bit much.

I think there is a difference between a guy being shirtless and a woman shaking her basically bare ass in a sexual way. If Adam Levine shook his bare ass like that, yes, it would be just as much of an issue. This is not me having a problem with beautiful women expressing themselves. This is about not showing children sexually provocative stuff on family programming. Thats all. Oh and lol on the 80 y/o comment.
-
I felt like a few of those moves might have been a bit much for family programming. Clearly the intent of it was SEX appeal and not just dancing. At what point do we want to show sexual stuff on family programming? But to be honest. shakira came out, looked amazing, wikipedia, she is 43? I am 38 there is still hope! J Lo, looked great, back to wikipedia, 50? There is definitely hope! Getting older doesn't automatically equal falling apart. Inspirational

It looks like a parade of rainstorms on the GFS. -
The guidance was so bad the only place for it to go was to get better....but is this another tease? I think someone is going to get blasted with this gradient pattern, probable not here, but wherever it is, is where I am headed.

Socked in with fog this morning. I took my drone up 400ft to see if I could get above it, figuring there was probably no way in heck that only 400ft would do it. But right at the end. Boom. There it is. So cool. I've also included a shot of Philadelphia Skyline from 42 miles away from my drone. In the Foreground is Wilminton Delaware, 12 miles away. Shows with a little elevation you can see a long way. So yes @MacChump you can see Philadelphia from here.
