Too bad you are pinning your hopes on the GFS which has been too cold in the long-range. Some inherent bias in the resolution of the modeling. It's showing up on everything but most apparent on the GFS. This period of wintry respite is starting to cloud your judgement Bob Chill.

If it's any consolation in regards to the stripe of 0.5" some of that is lost to rain. Take what you can get I suppose.

Well said Mappy honestly. It's been 4 years since the snow drought began locally and is now coming to an end.

Such a smol storm. I feel blessed that it ever happened a real thread the needle type situation. If we go by according to the ICON this will generate incredible frustration. I don't think this is storm mode material but considering the drought of good winter events it should be.

Just too silly. Not even the December 8th 2018 snowstorm managed to wreck the DC crew from the southeast. Isn't that more snowfall verbatim than some places in New York and Pennsylvania? (on a season to date basis).

If it's not region-wide then I have mixed feelings about starting a thread. I've come a long way from my degenerate weenie days. This storm is playing us like a fiddle. I cannot wait to see the disappointment.

Also a cold Europe is bad for us. Scary when the AGW signal is overwhelming the short-term variability in the system.

The Anthropogenic warming signal is so strong now that it's showing up in overnight temperature minimums.

This is our future luckily we really are close to the ocean which acts as kind of a buffer. Keeps the cold air axis too far west.

I would say it is about 30/70 rain to snow. Not that it matters that much in the end. Rates are king for those people and ourselves. It's also early December.
