There's bad actors everywhere. There's sociopaths everywhere ... most psychotic apes are more capitalist than otherwise. (not to disparage the ape)
Primate's are highly intelligent and compassionate but somehow despite our IQs and affluence we can't do basic logic. The few shouldn't ruin the show for the many.
It's too far away and too abstract for people but it's very real. However death anxiety is a problem as well but it's not normal to die from nuclear bombs.
Truth but we also are the only country to date to use nuclear bombs on civilian populations. It's kind of expected and anything otherwise would be an anomaly.
You actually don't want this? This is an incredible setup that should not be squandered in these parts. These are not really our caliber ... very rare to have the lows pass this close in the Spring. They usually go to our north or west.
Nursing homes will be in short supply when you are elderly and you will not regret having kids. You will have less fossil fuel slaves working for you but less is more.
Why wouldn't you accept it? The Earth is our provider .... better call Elon Musk for advice. Giving us false hope. There is your pessimist.
"It is what what we want it to be" LOL
Maybe if civilization keeps trying we will get it right eventually. The definition of insanity is expecting a different result. There is no easy answer other than people being aware of the inputs and outputs of the ecological systems which sustain us. That requires time and generational overturning. Sadly we are in short supply of these things.
Fundamentally the distancing between humanity and the natural order is very large in cities. It's a lethal positive feedback loop. That's how we got to this point. We are all living on the most wretched of plantations. Not much has changed.
There is no point to life. It's just live and let live. That's my biggest concern with civilization. The collective delusion that we are on some path towards a "greater" future when the present is "good enough".
Let's lockdown for 1 year and crash industrial civilization. It's not even possible ... people need to work because we would starve otherwise. The cities are ****ed.
It seems fate has made it's decision and the powers that be (nature) does not approve of our presence.
World Wars, diseases, etc have been with us since the beginning of civilization. People didn't meltdown they just pulled through. I agree that the stakes are higher now but it is what it is.
