    In upper manhattan: my high was about 97.5 F at 3 PM. Now I'm at 94.1 F. I'm not sure how accurate my sensor is though. I'm ready for the rain.

    For some reason, my thermometer has stuck closer to the Park than anything else. It has stayed a little cooler. That might be because my neighborhood in upper Manhattan is a little cooler than many others (based on maps I have seen), and my sensor is higher up next to an apartment. I'm at 89.8F now.

    The HRRR seems to think it will stay north. It's pushing south, but it doesn't seem to be making much headway. We'll see though!

    On July 22, 2011, at one point, the temperature was 103 and the dewpoint was 71 at Central Park. --> HI 113 F. It will be interesting to see if we beat that heat index this weekend.

    There were lightning strikes all around and thunder in upper Manhattan. My cat didn’t seem to care very much though.
