  1. Didn't know whether to post in Long Range since it's just an op run but here's the end of this morns 6z gfs at 10mb for some Christmas dopamine:
  2. 12/06/2023: T (brief light graupel (~2:25pm)) 12/11/2023: 0.9" ( Fairly heavy wet snow overnight... heaviest between 2:45 and 3:35am) 2023-2024 winter total as of Dec 11, 2023: 0.9"
  3. Yeap. Just saw that flash from the bolt to my west.
  4. Don't be too surprised to hear thunder this morning. Quite a bit of lightning, relatively speaking, with the activity near Charlottesville. Some limited elevated CAPE is available.
  5. Tonights sunset was the earliest of the year. The sun set at 4:47pm est at IAD (time at which 100% of the sun disappears beyond the horizon). Starting tomorrow the sun will start slowly setting later giving us more evening light.
  6. 12/06/2023: T (brief light graupel (~2:25pm)) Total as of Dec 6, 2023: T
  7. Brief light graupel. I'm on the board!
  8. A MRGL wouldn't surprise me if wind fields are strong enough and the pencil thin-line can tap into that wind aloft.
  9. New SON ONI/RONI out. SON ONI(rounded to nearest tenth): 1.8C SON RONI: 1.34C
  10. ...You're a very good storyteller.
  11. BWI: 56.4" DCA: 40.2" IAD: 61.8" RIC: 32.7" Tiebreaker SBY: 37.2"
  12. Happy beginning of a Meteorological El Nino winter! May it deliver us the fun white stuff.
  13. IAD got down to 19F this morning.
  14. Just over 2.25" here. Herndon. IAD: "Currently the temperature is 55 degrees under partly cloudy skies." Dewpoint 48. Winds NNW at 12mph.
  15. I smelt smoke this morning while running. Now breezy and 55/40 at IAD.
  16. Eh. I'd at least wait until Cinco de Mayo. We were not too far from an event in early May of 2020 when a wave tracked just off to our north followed by some flakes and graupel pellets flying in northern zones on the 9th of that month.
  17. Unsolicited fact: Last December in the area was generally slightly BN temp-wise and AN precip-wise. (Yes. Luck was about as bad as possible in multiple ways that month. Our luck will be better this year.)
  18. Yeah. I wouldn't be too surprised if it got slick out there especially in colder spots N and W by morning. Lots of low-level moisture, clear skies, light to calm winds...
  19. Dulles has just hit 79F breaking the daily record of 78F. ETA: Now 80F. lol ETA2: 81F.
  20. What IPAs are you and everyone else in here celebrating this great day with?
  21. Time sensitive. Smoke from the central VA wildfire is making the sun very red now. ETA: Particularly if you're in VA.
