There's absolutely no reason to take the models wholesale anymore. The general idea they're giving is spot on. Also, this thing is just beginning to pivot. We were never going to cash in the whole time down here or else we would be forecast for another 5-10 or so. We are where we are and we still have a solid chance of another couple inches when H7 keeps torqueing then pulling away. The big problem is if it erodes too fast as it pulls away. My money is on something in between, hence a shot at another 1-2 here in NW DC.

I'm not so sure. It showed that it would take a good amount of time for this thing to really wind up. Let's see what happens as it does.

Jan 2000. My all time favorite storm because it was clear as day from the radar that it was headed our way. But they were still just hugging the solutions.

And tbh temps are cold enough to support this sticking around at least on grassy surfaces. We’re not gonna see any torch that the gfs was showing earlier. These tailing, sweeping bands are exactly what I’ve been thinking about in terms of surprises.

This is exactly how I feel. Without any further trending of the low, simply with a more robust precip shield we could see something halfway decent tomorrow. The models just don’t have a handle on this at all. Should be very interesting.

Yeah we just had a great suite of runs. I don’t think another couple inches is even improbable for most of us. And with the placement of the low some of us could be in for some surprises. The children are really separated from the adults when a storm doesn’t go beyond our expectations. And most of us here have gotten pretty much what was forecast. Let’s get back to having fun and ignoring the a-holes who show their face just to screw with people.

Absolutely. The precip shield was less favorable but that means nothing to me now. The low is far more tucked. This should be interesting. I think my area is probably going to get fringed but you might be in a better spot. In general, Baltimore and NE should definitely be interested by now. Gotta be prepared to wait out these lulls while the real thing gets its act together.

This storm is still far from organized. We have a long way to go. We were never going to be in the jackpot but surprises are in store for some people on this sub.
