Yeah, albeit up the hill a bit. 2.5" at 550' and 5" around 1k'. Still snowing
The Quabbin needs all the water it can get right about now. Old foundations and roadbeds are already out of the water down around Grave's Landing.

Ya can’t fish if it’s snowing…or is the pond still frozen?
It just turns into a mess. Line freezing in the guides and snapping, the water freezing up and messing with electronics, lithium batteries + the cold can lead to issues and then people are getting towed in. It would be a challenge but could also get really expensive. The last really cold tournament I fished I also had a rod basically explode in my hand on a hookset and had to get graphite/carbon fiber splinters taken out of my hand at urgent care.

Yup, today was supposed to be the first fishing tournament of the year.

I think they said tonight is officially the coldest game at Fenway.
Yes, I was surprised to hear that. They specifically said coldest start to a game, I would think some games have gotten colder come the 9th inning.

Winds have really picked up as well in the last 30 mins or so with development of the meso off the coast.
Ah, not much for wind here yet. HRRR is interesting, there would be a lot of surprised folks in the mid-coast area. We are pasted.

Accidents all over the secondary roads, sounds like cars backed up for miles between here and Freeport/Yarmouth. Just over 6" down since 13:00.

Had a friend ski there today and called it his best day of the year.
It's such a gem. My last run was at 3:30 and there were still fresh turns in glades on the map. I didn't even bother with the Moxie hike.

I don't know ow how much snow fell at home in Gray but I saw 3-4" per stuff at Black Mountain in Rumford with 3-4'+ drifts. Several kids had to be dug out of the glades/tree wells there today. At a couple points I was chest deep.

Just noticed that GYX had bumped me up to a warning. They had had me in an advisory last night.
Quite the bump up for most. I think Friday night we were 4-6" and now on the edge of the 8-12" range.

U.S. vs. Canada in Nations Face-Off. Happy the NHL replaced the All-Star game with this.

Grilling steak in the dumping snow and watching the craziest hockey I've seen. Cheers to winter.

Yeah. Josh seems to be hitting backside snows hard. But yeah would need 12"+ to get anywhere near 30" lol. Western wind direction also not as ideal for down in the MRV. Need more NW so I'm a bit perplexed.
Gonna be a lot of pissed off folks when most lifts are on windhold. A skinners' delight!

According to the ring cam, Flakes are flying at home but closer to 11 pm up here.
Yea, everyone at Hannaford in Gray was surprised. Moderate snow since around 7:00 here.

Her teacher is absolutely incredible, and trying to get 15 kindergarteners on their iPads, direct them, etc. is a goat rodeo. Plus, they only had activities until 11:30 to make it basically count as a half day. Might as well go skiing. In the future I'm just going to plan for a day off.

Yup, 1-2" of compact baking soda, moderate sleet started about 10 minutes ago.

Still pounding baking soda here. I've learned a "remote day" for a Kindergartener is chaos so we are just going to head over to ski at Pleasant.
