  1. Beautiful day to work outside and split wood for next winter. Damn Crohn's has probably taken 20 pounds off me this summer and I barely got through half a cord. Only 6-7x more needed  for 2021-2022. Looking forward to some thunder later after a jump in the pool.

MA Covid numbers have been much better the last week or so.  Below 2% positive.   Hopefully that spike was short lived.
Im hoping to be able to work with my students in person at least part time of this keeps up.  Still can’t do labs though.

I'm happy Mass schools open a month after many schools down south so we can see what happens. North Paulding (where the now famous picture of the hallway came from) is closed again today since they have now had 35 test positive after 4 days of  classes on a reduced schedule. It's another BioGen in the making.

  3. Last week I worked on the neighbor's lawn a bit with a thatching rake after the storm. Lots of dead/dormant grass. Pretty impressed with how it is filling in and greening up in 5-6 days. Just goes to show how grass keeps growing in this heat with little rain if you get that crap out of it.

I'm hoping to get in on that pounding action.  Had a little boom boom last night and got a little wet but not enough to satisfy me....or my tomato plants. What you end up with for precip?

Only about 0.2" in a brief downpour. It all helps. Wife's tomato plants have gone wild in the heat. We have a couple well over 6' and producing non-stop red and orange cherry tomatoes. The big fruits are just starting to redden up.

Storms are trying to form, been pretty dark here the past hour. Temperature has really leveled off at 88* since about 11am.

    Nice, ORH.

My wildlife includes accidentally leaving a can of Pringle’s by the pool this evening when the wife and I sat out for a drink.  A friend was dropping something off so we ran inside for a bit.

I came back out a half hour later to clean up and the Pringle’s are gone.  No where to be found but I notice a paw print on the table.  Looking around I find the container along the woodline... damn bear stole them in the half hour we were chatting on the other side of the building!

    Ah, the best Pringles flavor.

  6. So many roads closed in town. Just saw a FB post it took someone almost an hour to get to Ludlow (usually a 10 minute drive) due to all the road closures. Waiting to hear if the Quabbin access road is open. No point in trying to do anything else.

  7. This is unreal. We have moved to the middle of fhe house. Our living/sun room is getting pelted with branches and had a limb just miss the side of the house. I don't know if it is our exposure on this hill or what. Last hour has been better than Irene was in RI for me.

Is it me or did they change the change the track of Isaias on the 11:00 advisory more westward? Looks like none of the cone covers Connecticut or Massachusetts now. The center crosses further west of NYC

There was a western shift on models very early this morning. Precip shield looks further west than modeled yesterday too.
