  1. Just got up to 32° here and very light rain appears to be ending. Last pic before it starts melting away! nw Augusta County
  2. Woke up to almost an inch of accumulated snow and sleet! 31° and raining right now northwest of Staunton in Augusta County.
  3. It was a typo, my bad. Meant 93 hours. My apologies, FOLKS. I should no better.
  4. Per the GFS, snow arrives in the DC metro area in about 93 hours, so less than 4 days out.
  5. You can just save money by putting the beers directly in the foot plus of snow you are about to get.
  6. Turned to heavier rain, so not accreting well now. 32° eta: 30° now but still raining too hard to build up
  7. 31 and light rain, so accreting well recently. 2 hr delay tomorrow nw of Staunton in Augusta County
  8. Does this algorithm count sleet as snow like the GFS on TT does?
  9. Thanks, and sorry. Just worried about my wife. And I guess my mother-in-law, too. Lol
  10. I have never done this before, but I am worried and have a serious question. My wife and mother-in-law are flying back from FL to Richmond on Monday. Then, they have about a 2 hr drive along I-64W to get home. The current flight lands at 10:00pm Monday, but for a little extra money they can land at 12:30pm. Any thoughts on which has the better probability of being the safer option? Any guidance would be welcomed. Thanks ahead of time.
  11. I get pictures nearly every year of those two types of flowers in the snow. Hopefully this year is typical and I see that again soon!
  12. New Orleans cams are amazing rn https://www.earthcam.com/usa/louisiana/neworleans/bourbonstreet/?cam=catsmeow2
  13. 32° and just ripping out there! Awesome storm!
  14. Ripping fatties at 32° here northwest of Staunton in Augusta County. Coming up on 2” otg.
  15. Started off as rain, but all went over to all snow 30 minutes ago. 33 degrees and dropping. Roads are beginning to cave.
  16. Agreed. I am just west of the gap here in Augusta County. A typical modeling error away from not a lot of qpf. Hope it’s wrong or if not it isn’t in my or your backyard.
  17. Honestly, I thought it dropped 2 degrees in 15 minutes but decided I might be tripping!
  18. 36°, down 2° in the last 30 minutes. nw of Staunton in Augusta County
  19. But you don't mind stealing bread from the mouths of decadence... Back to the storm, after the 12z suite looks like 3-6" for most with booms up to 8" and busts down to 1" possible forum-wide. Hopefully AI comes in juicy in about an hour!
  20. Ensembles aren't as useful at these lead times (<36 hours here). Ops outperform due to higher resolution.
  21. I know you are referring to 2m temps, but it helps that most in the sub have snow cover, so the temperature at the literal surface is freezing. Even if it is slightly above freezing at 2m and just overhead, the flakes that make it to the ground will stick immediately.
  22. Lightly snowing in Augusta County and 37° about a half an hour ago. The new snow pellets are on top of the ice footprint in the pic.
