  1. New drought maps are out but of course they have a cutoff of Tuesday. So continued worsening is shown. We wait to see how things look next week for this storm and anything else is factored in:
  2. Nearest weather station has 2.93 so far with another .2 on Sunday night. Our pond is back to full, the new plum trees are watered, the driveway is covered in leaves, and there is water in the basement. Yeah it is autumn!
  3. The light of the sunset really brings out the color of his salmon t-shirt and white suit jacket (sleeves rolled up of course).
  4. If this was a cop or spy movie, you would have to avert a huge attack and end up working through the night. You would thwart it tomorrow but realize that you still had unfinished business in your career. Yes I am binge watching Mi-5 at the moment, why would you ask that?
  5. The rain has slacked here now but when we got up the rain was so heavy our labrador refused to go outside to go to the bathroom.
  6. weather station on the next road over has 1.99 inches since midnight, and .83 yesterday, so 2.82 so far. https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KVTNORWI10 It also has the temp and dew doing 5f since 6 am.
  7. If my math is right, KLEB is up to 2.22 inches. https://w1.weather.gov/data/obhistory/KLEB.html
  8. The sun angle is tough to overcome this time of year.
  9. Plus, as the photos clearly show, nobody lives there.
  10. 2007 had a huge Grinch melt. I think it was around the 23rd. We were in Bethlehem NH at the time and had a 22" pack taken down to an inch in a two day hit. We recovered and I think there were still a few patches of snow on the ground all the way to May 1.
  11. The second photo clearly shows that there are not inches of leaves. Clear instance of slant sticking or was the measurement in a drift? Upslope enhancement by the birches? If so, do you find that to be more likely to occur with a blocked flow? What has the Froude number been lately? What is showing at the stake? Regardless, I assume Jay Peak is reporting twice the leaf depth as you have. There, I think we are prepped for winter.
  12. What is SB? I am in western Norwich. I think this is the closest station: https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KVTSHARO1?cm_ven=localwx_pwsdash It says .22 overnight. This looks like a new station: https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KVTNORWI10 I am about halfway in between. It says .20 overnight.
  13. Yeah, we actually got a decent rainfall overnight!
  14. PF- I keep thinking that the stones in your shots the past few days is snow. Someone in Norwich does regular drone flyovers movies, he did one for the foliage yesterday.
  15. Radar seems to show a couple of very light showers heading in your direction but may not make it that far.
  16. I was joking in case it wasn't clear and agree with much of what you said. (FWIW until the ground freezes I would rather spend my free time moving rocks on our land than be inside and once the snow hits there are remarks made that I spend too much time hand shoveling our 110 yd driveway.
  17. It is a shame your house did not come with a large tank of some sort that held water into which you could have jumped occasionally.
  18. It does depict many weekends I have had since moving to our current house. Who knew a crowbar would be so helpful a tool for clearing flower and veg beds!
  19. People had nothing else to do back then so they may as well work 90 hours a week until they died of old age at 32.
  20. Low was 30 here this morning after 32 yesterday.
  21. 41 here. I have tarps over many plants outside and brought a few in. Hopefully we can get some things past the next couple of nights to enjoy some of the annuals a little longer.
  22. Went out for a run. Out and back but somehow the wind was in my face the whole way.
  23. Well we have already had such ferocious sounding names as "Kyle" "Sally" "Teddy" and, scariest of all, "Nana" so far this year.
  24. I just remember it as the year that Maryland got 70 inches total in 3 snows while in Peacham I got 3 inches total in 70 snows.
