Maybe the rain hates you. Yeah I talkin' to you Maybe the rain hates you How can we appreciate the sun if we don't have the rain? It irrigates crops! It keeps things clean! I love the rain! -

I moved to Vermont in late August of 92 so that was my first winter here. It snowed the evening of Sept 30. -
snow level here is about 1300' (based on my obs on drive home). It was accumulating on 89 between miles 35 and 45, wet otherwise

Wasn't there a report of 36" from White Horse in the 96 storm or are we just talking official reporting stations? -

At least Jack will be happy -
Still only 37 and not much melt loss yet. I had to go to Rutland for work today and there was a 10 degree swing in about two miles while crossing the pass on 4 by Pico. Was true on the way home too.

That was only true in model and storm threads. The more open threads were at least 1/3 sexual innuendos and altered quotes. It was so prevalent I still expect that someone will respond to my report of having 7" new this morning with a "that's not what she said" -

Haven't you heard AI has cracked the weather models and is accurate out to 158 days now? -

Not true, I have seen every Netflix and Hallmark movie set in the UK, all 927 of them. It always snows in London for Christmas- even in the years when the trees still are fully leafed out and green. -
3.4 inches last night.

This doesn't appeal?

New England Winter 2024-25 Bantering, Whining, and Sobbing Thread

For a number of years, we would get a tree around 13 feet. We have a center staircase colonial so the stairs go up and the bend and the tree would go at the bottom next to the bends corner. It is perfect for getting the top of the tree done. The trick was finding them thin enough so they wouldn't take up the whole room. Biggest difficulty was getting it in the front door and then upright to put it into the stand. Other downside was that it was almost impossible to see the top of the tree from the couch in the room just off the atrium. You had to bend down to see the whole tree at once. We are going for trees in the 9- 10 foot range now and they are a lot easier to get into the house. -

New England Winter 2024-25 Bantering, Whining, and Sobbing Thread

If I remember from my time in RI, one of the reasons I switched over to snows in winter is that the Nokias were less expensive than my all-season tires so it seemed like a cost saving way to prolong the life of the all-seasons. It appealed to my cheap self. -
And bare in Burlington VT to boot.

Reason I ask is that it is not infrequent to see out of state vehicles, inc awd vehicles, off the road up here. I passed one which was upside down in a ditch this morning. Last night I was behind a small SUV with Mass plates on RTE 100 just south of Stowe. They fishtailed all over the road and then went about 100 yards up a hill before half pulling over and stopping. It looked like they had little traction. I have no idea how they were going to get up the rest of the way from where they stopped but my FWD Prius did fine with its studded Hakkas. When we lived in RI we switched to winter tires but after the last few years I wonder if that happens less. -

Question for the SNE folks> Do you put snow tires on? -
I was on 100 just south of Stowe at 6:30 and lightning lit up the whole sky to the south , looked like it was over Waterbury

So Kevin comes up to Vermont and drives past all of our places. The storm comes and we all get 2 inches or less and Tolland gets dumped on. Only conclusion is Kevin stole our snow. Congrats.

about 1.3 inches new here.
