  1. Woke up to 22f and 2.3 inches of snow. Hopefully the fruit tree crops (apple, pear, plum) will be fine as they were very close to having the flowers opening. Big question now is if I will get the .4 inches needed to get me to 80 inches on the season.
  2. 2.3 inches total here after some fluff overnight.
  3. Slushing here in Rutland now. It looks like the hood of my car has a coating on it.
  4. A sure sign of Spring, My FEDCO order arrived on Sunday afternoon. 5 different grapes and a peach tree. I got the Peach tree in where it will stay and put the vines into a bed until I can get the long-term site ready.
  5. Fixx also had been overweight and a smoker before taking up running in his mid-30s. Sadly he also had a family history as his father died of a heart attack at 43. https://www.si.com/track-and-field/2020/05/21/jim-fixx-legacy-running-coronavirus
  6. For some reason, this is no longer the case in Brazil. Recently those under 40 became the majority of those in ICU care nationally. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-brazil/majority-of-brazil-covid-19-icu-patients-aged-40-years-or-younger-report-idUSKBN2C02UB https://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-56696907 Is it the variant? Is it that it is very prevalent and the old are not making it to the ICU anymore?
  7. Well everyone 16 or older can sign up for a shot. You then wait for the appointment, get a shot wait 3 more weeks, get a second shot, and then wait 2 more weeks for full effectiveness to be reached. Around here when I signed up, there was a 2 to 3 week delay before the 1st shot. So would be 2 months from now that 16+ signing up today will have completed the process. Boy I am so glad this thread is COVID and politics free.
  8. He runs in almost all his movies
  9. But what if Eyewall moved into the Randolph place in his stead? Would it ever snow again or would it break all the jinxes?
  10. Hoping for more volleyball scenes? Did Tom Cruise run at all in the original?
  11. 3 inches here so far. Roads look okay
  12. 3 inches here so far. 34f
  13. Drove past Pico at 6 pm. The snow level was about 1800' and snow was accumulating on the slopes. 37 here at home
  14. It is nice that BTV put a tiny yellow dot over my house in a sea of light blue.
  15. Raining here in Rutland. It has been so dry that it feels really weird to hear the sound of rain outside.
  16. The noon clown wrapup for imby: GFS 19" NAM 13 NAM 3k 10 Euro 10" Oh Canada 8 Ukie 6
  17. One great part about this is I have COVID shot #2 tomorrow so I am planning to take Friday off. Sat Sun look like it will help melt and if it is really bad I can use my new chainsaw. Springtime at 1200" in Vermont!
  18. BTV has not gone big: Their PM discussion is a bit more bullish: https://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=BTV&issuedby=BTV&product=AFD&format=CI&version=1&glossary=1
  19. Got to love clown maps BIG BIG WINTER INCOMING!
  20. I love the feature on Pivotal where it shows the clown snowfall to the precise Lat Long point but it may be a bit amiss (obviously) on the 00Z UKMET. It gives 10" to 43.75°N 72.36°W but 0" to 43.75°N 72.40°W. 10' over .02 degrees would be one heck of a cutoff and there isn't a huge elevation change going on. Yeah yeah all the caveats about 3 day clown maps, it is still fun. https://www.pivotalweather.com/model.php?m=ukmet&p=sn10_acc&rh=2021041300&fh=114&r=us_ne&dpdt=&mc=
  21. I got so confused by this being posted but my response not showing up (not that was a great loss) but it is there 5 hours earlier on last page. Did you mean to post twice?
  22. Not this year. Days and days of cloudless skies this Spring.
  23. If we extrapolate from the NAM at 84hrs it says that there is a 50% chance the eclipse will be blocked by clouds up here.
