  1. Walnut, MS checking in with 9". That's bigger than any event I've had this season and is more than half my season-to-date total. Fahk an A
  2. So far so good! This morning they were hesitant to come down into the run, though. Understandably as it was -5°F. Yesterday morning as rough too with the wind. Gave them some warm Oatmeal as a treat, they were stoked. I do want to inspect their combs for any frostbite today, just to be sure. I did get snow blowing through the ridge vent during last Friday's storm, right into their coop. Cleaned out the snos after and they were fine. If we get another windy event I'll make sure modification to keep the snow out during the storm at least.
  3. ah, ok, looked similar to hazardville, have some family over there.
  4. Is it that High by St. John's that's pushing this thing up the Hudson? What changes would we want to see to that High position for more easterly solutions?
  5. that bottom inch or two leftover from december is literally bulletproof.
  6. 1.6F. Clearly not some radiating fake cold. Run straight out of my basement.
  7. Being in-person seems to be the most meaningful difference from last year. And yes, the whole pandemic experience is disruptive to kids, but they're also more resilient than people give them credit for, and at times more resilient than adults. If they positive, resilient adults in their life, they'll definitely make it out of this experience OK. And if they don't, they'll probably still be OK. 25/0F
  8. timing would coincide with when numbers started to drop last year at the same time. post-holiday surge peaked on Jan 11 last year.
  9. 0.53" LE for 5.4" here... 7AM - 0.9" new, 0.13 LE 1PM - 4.4" new, 0.38 LE 7PM - 0.1" new, 0.02 LE
  10. yeah i think this puts me at 17.5" or so for the season, which is (i believe) only 3" or so BN for PWM.
  11. I almost put my 5 year old up for adoption when she came within 4 feet of my snowboard earlier. We settled on a perma-ban from the backyard while it's snowing. I have a backup board location but yikes, kid, show some respect.
  12. 5.3" new as of 1PM. Depth back up to 7" for the first time since Christmas Day.
  13. I wonder if he's clearing his board when he takes those hourly measurements.
  14. Can't take a measurement until 1PM (or when it ends, whichever is first), but I'm eyeballing 3" new based on the snow stake, which is at 4". Had 0.9" new at the 7AM observation.
  15. Did this thing chase the convection or nah? Asking for a CT friend.
  16. Not sure the this is the best guide, but WV doesn't show any weakening https://weather.cod.edu/satrad/?parms=regional-eastcoast-10-24-1-100-1&checked=map&colorbar=undefined
  17. Followed this thread more close than I would in typical events. Just wanted to say THANKS to all the Mets and seasoned vets for their analysis, this has been an invaluable learning experience for me (at least leading up to go time).
  18. is it overdone on the model compared to radar, or is that just noise? wondering if truly weaker on radar that helps at all, or does its mere presence, regardless of strength, cause the low to chase?
