  1. I still have occasional pingers in Tuckahoe (Forest at Patterson) but it is based on how heavy the precip comes down. I hear it pinging off the PVC railing and hitting off the basement windows of my office, but predominantly rain.
  2. uh oh, do I dare venture into the main thread for analysis? Decisions, decisions.
  3. Cary Street and River Road when it is just 2 lanes can be a daunting commute with even a minimal weather event. Might suggest cutting over to Grove or even using Patterson and going over the Willey Bridge as you have a bit more margin for error, longer route for sure but if we get 4" of snow, might be worth it.
  4. Man, what the hell happened? Getting ready for another WWA. Just want a solid WSW event. The Euro is either in a slump, lost its touch or can't handle this pattern.
  5. NBC12 pulled back, they were 3-6" for metro and 5-10" North and West.
  6. Going to bust a little high on the temps today. Up to 44 here but clouds are settling in.
  7. Ugh, glad I didn't stay up. I know winter weather is a crap shoot around here but darn sick of models honking on 8-12" or significant ice storm days out and then I sound the alarm at work, with caveats, only to have it pull back within 48 hours with what might be another WWA event.
  8. It's good for info when they let the mets and experienced users analyze so I lurk for that but when it gets too DC centric on the analysis, it does get tough to filter.
  9. UKIE on board. My wife is from Shropshire so I expect the Brits to be on my side for some snow.
  10. I haven't been sifting through all the pages but is this a CAD situation? If so, doesn't the EURO have a better track record handling CAD than the GFS?
  11. I would so take that and run. Especially if we get just enough ice to make it stick around, not enough to cause power loss but enough to where sledding would be supreme. Think the main thread is quiet as they root hard for the shift and also they were cracking down on banter. However, the no banter rule is usually ignored for the chosen ones in that thread.
  12. Yeah roads white here but I am on a dead end cul de sac, assume main roads probably clear or just white to the sides. Oh what could have been if we had the temps.
  13. Nice snow globe effect while enjoying my coffee this morning. Hope it holds on longer than expected.
  14. Heavy sleet with occasional flakes, my least favorite breakfast cereal, but enough to have slurpee coating on the deck and grass here in Tuckahoe by UR.
  15. Ugh, hate the NBC 12 weather app, woke up, saw WSW and thought awesome but disappointed to see WWA for our area. Maybe we will upgrade closer to event like last week. Thanks for posting Yoda. It is funny with the TV mets as JB is always predicting on the higher end and as much as Duncan loves snow (used to have a snowmobile) he always seems conservative.
  16. Good question. I might go back and check that thread.
  17. Maybe the Euro will deliver the goods. Will check back at 1:20.
  18. NAM looks juicier but a whole lot of orange (sleet) for us from the maps they are posting in the main thread.
  19. Yeah, this has been a strange week for model watching. Euro has the storm, ditches it but now GFS, NAM and ICON seem to be on board for something. Then, watched the forecast high for Monday go from 25 the beginning of the week to something like 52.
  20. It's a good flick and when she not all "peaches and cream" toward the end, she would make a good mod. Decent theme song by Sister Hazel too at the end.
  21. Okay, that was fun. Can we officially say "Next" now? Let's do another Sunday thing although this time without the mix or rain, limited the time that we could enjoy it. When I was younger, sure I could handle playing in the slush but now being older, want some powder.
  22. Certainly nice to have some flakes while walking the dog last night and then this morning, nice wintry landscape. Hoping for some Super Bowl Sunday, would be nice to have a fire in the fireplace, bourbon in my glass and some wings in the kitchen.
