Yup, those are some good winter seasons to remember! One thing I've found interesting, and this could just be total chance and luck, is how March has tended to be a month that gives us a decent event and one last cold blast before spring settles in. More so in the last decade, it seems. I don't know what that means, if anything, and it is anecdotal to be sure. But just ticking off years that I can immediately call to mind that had some kind of March snow/wintry event include 2009, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2022. I may have missed a year in there, too. They weren't huge storms or anything like that but there was some legit cold and a few inches (2009. 2014, 2015 did have solid warning events in March).

OK, come on now...leave the National League team from New York out of this!!

Thanks for this. It's disappointing, to be sure, for anyone who is a snow lover (myself included). But what the hell can one do? You don't have control over what does or doesn't fall from the sky, but you DO have control over how you react and deal with that. I won't pretend that I'm not disappointed or feel frustrated. But there are many other things I can do and have been doing, weather be damned. It shouldn't run one's life. I still take photos (the sky the other evening was simply amazing at sunset!) which I truly enjoy doing, go for walks, and if I can get back in the right mood for it (since moving a couple months ago), will get on the bike and ride again for a bit. My only hope, I guess, is that we don't have mosquitos or other annoying bugs start showing up while it's still technically winter!

There's a store nearby me that always had snow shovels out, no matter what time of year. I even saw them in mid-summer, sitting up atop a couple of the shelves. I guess they were hoping for the rare July 4 blizzard!

Yeah, totally agree. It's sad in so many ways that politically and otherwise, it's become a contentious issue when it shouldn't be. Yet it has become that despite a mountain of evidence. At this point, it would be akin to arguing that gravity isn't a thing, or that the sun actually does goes around the earth (sorry, Galileo!), etc. You get the idea.

Whatever. I only mentioned it because probably nearly everyone finds it amusing on some level regardless of one's views, and it's as crazy as some of these model solutions!

I say! Well hit sir! Ahhh, the games in the old Panic Room! Casinos, slot machines, bars...! And the occasional game of Twister (best played during severe season)!

Yeah the way the light can give such texture and color to the clouds at that time of day is kind of surreal! And it constantly changes. I did use Lightroom to boost the contrast and clarity some, but that is really what the sky looked like.

That's pretty cool! I didn't have a chance to go see it. But when I was in Atlanta years ago they had a special display for a short time of a few of his best known ones, including Starry Night.

C'mon, you surely know I was joking and ribbing you a bit for fun! Sometimes a bit of humor helps. But it has seemed like this year you've been a lot more pessimistic. I certainly don't think you're trying to be alarmist and in no way suggesting that you put lipstick on a pig and say how great things look. In fact I agree with a lot of your concerns about trends the past couple of decades. I've always respected your input and analysis in here, one of the posters who contributes a lot of good information. And in an impartial, fact-based manner. I won't go requesting "alternative facts!"
