  1. Does the icon suck or does our winter the last 2 weeks suck? Why not both? LOL!
  2. I'd agree maybe "Commanders" is meh. But I would hardly argue that "Redskins" was the coolest name in all of sports. Unless you meant WFT was coolest, hahaha! The Cleveland Indians changed their name to the "Guardians", which at least has a local reference...to the '30s art deco "Guardian" statues that adorn the Lorain-Carnegie bridge which opens up near the stadium.
  3. OK thanks. I think that's kinda similar to what it had before at 12Z, but haven't looked at its details. Not a step back at any rate.
  4. So is the NAM actually slightly colder and farther along with the freezing line compared to its own 12Z? (ETA: I'm referring to Friday).
  5. Holy cow...if that actually comes close to happening. What are the surface temps like through the time the DC area is getting ice? Surprised in a way the GFS doubled down and triple dog dared on this run. I don't know what to make of it now. I mean, we're getting around 84h when this supposedly would begin.
  6. Your plea for such sanity and optimism won't work here. It almost never does. Historically, we just don't do positive vibes for such rare sparks of reason. I mean, you could go back to several years ago, but the setup for that run of sanity was not the same as this one. Now, it's all despair and we don't fare well with those setups! I'll see myself out into the street now!
  7. LOL! So on Groundhog's Day no less! I suppose they'll keep picking a team name again and again until they get the right one??
  8. Really? So WFT is actually to decide on a name? Yeah, I kinda think it would be funny to stick with the WTFs!!
  9. Sounds like the Browns, to be honest! Good talent, lots of potential. But terrible management, and what should be a better team ends up somewhat less than mediocre.
  10. Yeah, it was commissioned by George III as a last ditch effort to lure colonial snow weenies back to the British side. Unfortunately for him, it didn't work.
  11. That's cool!! I actually didn't get a chance to look at that so closely. But very interesting, how he found Napoleon a hero for the common man but then realized he was just a dictator wannabe hell-bent on conquest.
  12. Well, tracking is rarely happy in this area, but...LOL!! That's not entirely fair, of course. Good that you know a lot of names on here.
  13. The GFS has never really been "big" on that for late this upcoming week. It got close to something a few times, but that's about it. And really nothing like what a couple of recent runs of the Euro or UKMet showed. Beyond this Friday, yeah, we'll see...
  14. Hello and welcome to the mid-Atlantic Forum. Where the snow weenies are nuts and the storms are getting nervous! We're all crazy here, but since you're joining in, then what does that say?...well, I'll just leave it at that LOL! Seriously though, it's a good group in here, and hope you have fun!
  15. Nice! I haven't heard that overture either. Next time I see something at the Kennedy Center, I'll have to keep that in mind about the orchestra pit. Last time I was there was to see Phantom of the Opera a few years back. And my daughter in a performance of Washington Ballet's "Alice in Wonderland" years ago when she was younger. She was a student in the ballet school, and they had several students perform in that (same thing with Nutcracker every year, but that's performed at the Warner).
  16. No, haven't seen that! Cool! Ludwig van's signature.
