Afternoon measurement (around 3:00pm): 6.0". Waiting to see how much that can be topped off with the ULL bands. Went for a rather long Jebwalk to get some photos, when I suddenly realized that my right boot had somehow cracked with the sole dragging on the ground. Ugh!! I was a fair distance from home and managed to get back before the whole bottom came off!! Must have gotten brittle somehow, it was fine earlier when I was out. So my Jebwalk turned into a moonwalk!! Hope to post a couple of photos in the next day or so, when I have a chance to offload the images and process them some.

This is the most appropriate response to a (bad!) pun, and the greatest compliment one can give!!

Snowflakes may not repeat themselves, but the definitely can rime! (exiting stage right after a bad meteorological pun...!)

Good morning all! About 4.5" at 7AM here in the Bethesda, MD area. Took some photos, will try to post some later when I have a chance (and hope to get more later on today as well)!

I also remember the...uhhhh, how to put it..."guitar player" icon you used for your avatar during that event (he was strumming...something...that's for sure!)!!! (Was that REALLY almost exactly 9 years ago now?!?!)

Jan. 30 cold smoke MECS, Feb. 2 (ended early that morning) sort of MECS with an area-wide 5-6", then the two HECS events.

Damn, that 12 day period from Jan. 30 through Feb. 10 was just unreal!!! 2 HECS-level events and 2 moderate MECS-level ones in that time!

Oy Gevalt!! I haven't seen totals like that around here since the Jan. 2016 blizzard!!! I know it will be totally different or even gone 6 hours from now (or not even on any other model), but you have to like the potential showing up in this pattern.

Probably not at this point in time, but people usually have put some notice about the latest models in the obs thread. Obviously, the meso/CAM models are more appropriate at this point, as well as "now-casting."

I guess no mention by this point of the GFS, Euro, etc.?

Better the Epiphany Storm than "celebrating" that other Jan. 6 incident from 4 years ago (that's as political as I dare get in here, but ya know what I mean!). Anyhow, spent the past couple of days taking down all the Christmas decorations, ornaments, and the tree. Always a bit depressing at this time of year when one has to do that. Felt very Grinch-like! I didn't even leave any crumbs too small for a mouse! (hopefully no mice!)
