  1. A lot of the models seem to have cold air around and some sort of storm signal for sometime next week, and after last year, I guess that’s all we can ask for
  2. That solution was lights out through Christmas anywhere west of Charlotte
  3. Pretty accurate run when you look at that warm nose changing it all back to rain as it departs
  4. If anyone is getting golf clubs for Christmas, you’ll really love the temp outlook for the holiday.
  5. Hey, somebody has to throw those of us between 1-2k ft a bone every now and then. Fingers crossed!
  6. Kinda surprised Monday’s minor potential hasn’t at least stirred the pot already.
  7. Made it up to Boone today. Around three inches from what I saw, but most importantly, a nice steady snowfall the entire time I was there. I miss being at a higher elevation but it makes the snow all that more special when I can make time for a short trip. Enjoy fellas. Fingers crossed that it’s just the start.
  8. Good luck fellas. Cash in for all of us lost souls sitting just off the mountains.
  9. Love the look for next week. Assuming the foothills can’t squeeze in some climatological luck, I may have to make the short trip up the mountain to get my snow fix.
  10. And in all honesty, it’s close to hammering the entire normal climo favored region. Just need that storm to tick a hair closer to the coast. Cold air seems like it’ll be around, as will a storm (somewhere). Can’t ask for much else! Especially after last winter
  11. Wind was very bad in my neck of the woods. Can’t recall conditions that bad in a long time. Many trees down and the winds were strong enough for my neighbor to lose a shutter off the house. Easily gusted 60+ Many times....
  12. Just saw a twitter thread regarding this. It looks like those anomaly’s are correct. I think the number of TC’s + a few fronts have helped to size the water temps down a bit. Hopefully a good sign in regards to RI prospects for future storms.
  13. Get the tent. You don’t want to stress about little things the day before/day of. And congratulations!
  14. Chilly morning and I love it. It’s such a nice change of pace to have a season start on time. I know it’s unrealistic to think that our warm days are done but fingers crossed that maybe the 90s are over (knock on wood).
  15. The clouds surrounding the eye are becoming incredibly tall. Kinda reminds me close up satellite images we saw of Michael right before landfall.
  16. Yep. All of this rain isn't ideal when you consider the potential path of Laura late next week.
  17. On the bright side... with the near daily rain, I can’t recall a time where my grass has ever looked so good in August. It’s growing like it’s late April.
  18. We can't take much more water on our end of Burke County. It's been dry the last two days but I'd say we had rain for about 8 of the 10 days prior. Several roadways flooded with the last storm. I just hope we don't get a tropical system this fall, or we're really going to see some issues.
  19. I haven't *not* had a drop of rain at my house every day this past week. I'll trade ya. I'm tired of the mowing lol!
  20. I’d take 100 degree temps for the next 3 months if it meant I could piece together more than 18 hours without rain in western North Carolina.
  21. Another unsettled week ahead. Trust me, I’m not wishing for a drought, but piecing together 1 or maybe two days in a row without rain would be awesome
  22. Agreed. I can't recall when historic flooding hasn't verified over the past two years lol. It's been an insanely wet period over western NC as of late.
  23. Hope everyone’s ark shipped this weekend
  24. I know we got hosed this winter and the snow was lacking, but cold and wet is the very last thing we need with this virus pandemic. I'm sure, of course, winter will arrive promptly in April and give us some gorgeous days with mid 50s and torrential downpours (rolls eyes).
