  1. Have you seen any storm surge numbers for yesterday . I figured some south facing coasts saw a decent rise east of center .
  2. I honestly like his passion and he was one of my favorite Mets on NECN . You and PF certainly know tons more than me from experience of how fast the man made stuff will bounce back and I know the biggest resorts will get their groomers going in a couple days
  3. The base areas that pond water that rushes down the slopes must be a sight to see after 4”plus ran down the mountain , combined with the high dews and snow Melting fog that all had for a substantial time . Man made holds on better but it wasn’t marginal 35 conditions . They torched in fog
  4. The amount of damage in Maine seems like they may actually need some federal funds or something after a storm of that magnitude . If this damage was done by a named system it would probably be easier
  5. Glad you son is doing ok Ray looks like I can make the GTG as I worked Monday double in exchange for Wednesday eve off
  6. Saw some mountain ops posts this am around New England that convey desperation , hope , and patience . Jay peak probably acted like they got a rogue shower and mounds of snow are imminent lol . Tim Kelly does a decent JB impression on his forecast there sometimes Many are closed today which seems prudent They need a snower badly before the new year Attitash got six inches of rain , can’t imagine Wildcat even has the resources to fix much fast there as all the condo rentals for holiday week @ Attitash may demand they use resources there (Wildcat is in middle of national Forrest and has no condos ) My guess is there are going to be higher risk of serious accidents by folks who don’t gauge the conditions well and the mountain will usually say “varied conditions / frozen granular) instead of icy death on some trails
  7. you guys got skunked with 2 bad cutters
  8. NH even worse off as this was their second cutter (two weeks in a row ) but just crazy of a Grincher . Truly hate to see it after skiing several times already at Stowe . Ski carefully when trails reopen
  9. Monster fetch developed Block Island Bouy was 25 feet Swell@ 15 seconds . That’s like N shore Hawaii size Good luck finding something higher in another storm
  10. I would think he needs to leave that area as a precaution given radar now and the river
  11. What a batch of precip from Nashua to E CT / RI. Should pivot up to lakes region and maybe wildcat
  12. I think on a weather board with mostly amateurs some are using that idea of persistence
  13. like last January to March when models consistently under forecast SW trough strength/ orientation 10-15 days out . It made sense to forecast using persistence *as long as* the tropical forcing or whatever in the Indian Ocean wasn’t budging but Models kept being fooled .
  14. Hopefully that batch of precip can slide east as it moves north toward North Conway - Bretton woods corridor . If Alex driveway already looks like that ..
  15. This has to Count as a grincher for ski resorts . Just went thru the cams . I mean geez . Many trails will simply be ice rinks by mid week , gotta exercise caution testing them out
  16. Also better that things are active as we get out 10-15 days
  17. I’d love to lose power at the gym this am . Shut em down . I have 5-6 ladies every hour from 6- noon
