Looks like multi days of all modes of severe wx this week. SPC has pretty strong wording. Spreading into middle TN late Tuesday into Wednesday. Flooding rains looks very likely.

That cold snap did quite a bit of damage to agriculture down here. I’ve noticed several Hollys trees and bushes that seem to be behind putting out leaves. I lost several Craig Myrtle. Even my Cypress tree lost some branches and is slowly putting out.

I’m just thankful for the rains to have returned. We needed it here in Middle Tennessee. Let it stay warm with afternoon rain & storms every 3-4 days. I will call it a win!

The Midwest these last 2 days have been hit hard by tornadoes. Then yesterday China was hit by a strong tornado. 5 dead & 33 injured. Video of it is really crazy. Its was like a the whole storm was the tornado itself.

I am hoping we get into a wetter pattern soon. The winds are drying out the soil quickly.

We really need to get some more soaking rains. It’s drying out quickly with these winds & warmer temps.

With all the cicadas thrown in

Not wx related but I saw my first red salamander today here in Smyrna. I thought it was a lizard till I researched what it was. Unusual to have them in this area from what I read. Guess they are expanding their presence.

I am liking the seasonal outlook for May/June/July with above temps but also with above precip. Give me afternoon thunderstorms to sit on my screen porch to listen to. Also keeps the grass & everything green.

Sadly Taiwan has been hit by 2 back to back major earthquakes. 7.5 & 7.4

Thankfully all the ingredients were not there & this system was more hype than bite. Always good to be prepared. Wx will never be fully predictable.

Stay safe East TN friends.

As a BAMA fan. I am just happy to experience happiness in March/April Madness!!! lol! I don’t see us beating UConn but stranger things have happened.
-
Well that goes along with everything else spinning backwards. Lol. Bring on the cicadas! Lol.

Really hoping we start getting more rain. This wind & warmer days is drying things out quickly. I was digging yesterday & the ground is pretty dry.
-
Disappointing there will be a hard freeze Monday night.
-
Of course. That’s TN springs anymore. Cold rains.

Well I say, winter is now over with except for a couple of cold spells and the normal blackberry Dogwood winters. Hopefully we don’t have a killing freeze. Except for one week in January this winter was a complete sham..- 750 replies

Looks like winter is over with for the lower elevations. Now we hope to not have a cold snap to kill the spring growth. Also appears wet times are ahead for the area. Hopefully any severe is DOA this spring.- 750 replies

I feel like nature is hard to predict these days. Seems everything is reverse of what it should be. This winter was to be a backloaded winter & instead we had 1 week in mid January. From MJO to teleconnections we keep adding or finding something that affects the weather patterns. I remember in the last 2 years it was supposed to be a hot dry summer when it was the opposite. Nature sure is bipolar! Lol.- 750 replies

Cold springs seem to be the norm anymore for this area. I agree winter is not done & we will have some cold. Just hopefully not everything starts blooming then a cold that kills all the blooms comes along. March is my least fav month. Plus March lately has produced severe wx I won’t no part of. I hope to never see it again here but I know that’s not likely. I believe tornadoes follow certain geographical boundaries. Like they rotate back to that area every so often. Well where I live the clock is ticking I know. We are due for one to come thru here. Murfreesboro has been spared many years now. To me it’s like earthquakes. I consider tornadoes following fault lines though they really are not fault lines. Eventually earthquakes hit the same areas as will tornadoes. Sorry for the rambling.- 750 replies
