  1. Really? Ive been going for 40 years. I think its great. Joke must be one me
  2. Any chance this holds off until mid morning to get the parade in?
  3. our ski areas have been opened on Christmas. It just hasn’t been a great xmas week for years. We’ve had some good Decembers, but the last week of December has been brutal for skiing for a while around here. Something about that mega warm-up at the start of winter it’s almost like you could set your clock by it
  4. Nice dusting on the ground last night and just around in a few spots this morning as I guess some rain washed it away afterwards. very elevation dependent: if you’re on top of a hill, you still have snow on the ground if you’re down by the river, no snow at all Good sign for the winter ahead. Nice way to start. For all you naysayers out there, you never write off snow from the third week of November onward. haha
  5. Snowing in Westcheter. Accumulating
  6. Last week of Nov is absolutely snow climate. This week not so much. Forget thanksgiving, it moves around every year. Nov and March have strong cutoffs depending on week Last week of Nov…watch it
  7. it wasn’t gone in Queens by the afternoon. I distinctly remember going home that night with snow on the ground. Late 80s But more recently, we had snow in the nearby Northwest suburbs on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, and I was at the parade with full snow falling and not sticking.
  8. thanksgiving is very late this year. There’s no reason why from the last week of November onward it cant snow here. It’s not even unusual.
  9. Really? Everything long dead in westchester
  10. Its mid Nov. Take it if it comes
  11. Belleayre opens tomorrow! Bullish!
  12. 34F but we already had our first freeze last week
  13. Whiteface, Hunter, Belleayre all making snow today. Game on!
  14. Back in mid 90s that area of Suffolk really burned off the William Floyd and 27. Lot more houses now in those woods…if it ever happened again, there would be lots of structural damage
  15. In 2 decades we became Boston, then Denver, and now DC Yea!
  16. just had the sprinkler on and took an outdoor shower. Go figure
  17. Too early yet. If this was December I would lean towards you. let it shake out yet
  18. How does a warm Nov to a La Nina Dec look for Dec snowfall?
  19. Ski areas out west getting pummeled with early snow
  20. you need to be careful in these comparisons though because something odd happens when you get inland in the southeast. I’m an airline pilot. I’ve been flying for 20 years. It isn’t unusual for places like Raleigh to be colder than New York City at night in colder seasons on clear still nights. New York City is a disgusting urban heat is on the coast. If you want a true comparison to see warming between us and the inland Southeast, you should probably step inland a little bit or even out to Central Long Island. I would be much more comfortable with this comparison if you used a place like Islip or a place like Morristown. From what we have seen so far, AGW only magnifies the UHI at night…that doesn’t exist in any appreciable way in the south eastern United States outside of immediate metro Atlanta. even Atlanta can get colder than New York City on calm, clear nights
  21. and 30 years beyond that we have a Georgia climate? it isn’t linear. at some point, this will either level out or slow significantly to a new normal.
  22. I need to give the frost advisory credit. We do have frost this morning on the cars
