  1. So the ops are getting worse but the ensembles are getting better.
  2. Would love to have that 6 inches of snow eveb with some mix. But the mood now sounds like people don't believe it will be that much and we'll have more mixing.
  3. Can't deny the trends with the Euro and GFS today away from a huge snow storm for many in NC to more ice and rain. The low is just going too far inland in NC. We need it off the coast. Really frustrating because we have the CAD and temps cold enough for a big snow storm if the low was just farther east instead of coming inland so amped up and with the killer warm nose.
  4. I wonder if the Triangle is going to have to get used to seeing the warm nose more and more. It certainly seems to come further west and north than it used to. Greg Fishel said something with the last snow storm that the air coming off the ocean makes it warmer in the Triangle and harder to get snow than west of the Triangle. I think the more we see the oceans warming the more we'll see this happening and the warm nose continue to increase further west and north when we have a winter storm threat.
  5. Might not know until we actually see where the low goes while it's happening.
  6. Looks like more than 20 members with a solid hit for the Triangle.
  7. I have a feeling that between tomorrow and Sunday we're going to see the areas of heavy snowfall expand further north and east. I think in NC 95 down to 42 through Clayton, Fuquay, and Sanford will be the transition zone.
  8. Seems like the past couple of days every time the op goes one way the EPS does the exact opposite.
  9. Still a long way to go. If the low goes a bit further east or it's not as amped, then there could be more snow and less ice for a lot more folks.
  10. Pretty much set there's going to be a winter storm. Just a question of how much snow and where. If that low can shift a little east it would give even more folks a crush job.
  11. Need to get that low a little further east to get a crush job here.
  12. Now we're at the point where folks start worrying about the track and the 850s and it being too amped and warm for snow versus ice and rain.
  13. Looks like half of those have big hits for NC. Good stuff.
  14. Looks good for here, too. Still thinking it might be too amped and a little too warm. But being right on that snow/ice/rain line can be a good thing if you're on the snow side of it.
  15. And it's still a huge hit for 2/3 of NC.
  16. I'll take another January 2000 or January 2002 storm.
  17. I didn't want to be the first to mention it, but it has crossed my mind.
  18. Glad to see the GFS hold serve and show another crush job for NC.
  19. Euro looked like it went a lot further south this time around. Gives it time for that NW shift.
  20. Wow, crazy run! GFS keeps getting better and better.
