  1. I remember those storms well growing up in Durham in the 80s. But today those storms usually end here as more rain than anything else.
  2. It's crazy how hard it is too get snow here in the Triangle. Not enough precip, temps at 33 and rain, temps in the 20s but the track is too far inland and causes the temos to rise, warm nose, etc, etc.
  3. I think some folks are hung up on wanting huge snow totals and not thinking how big of an impact 3 to 5 inches of snow, freezing rain, and sleet will have.
  4. Looks like a bit of an increase in totals further east in NC.
  5. I have noticed the models do seem to do this back and forth dance often when we have a legit winter storm threat.
  6. They started putting brine on the roads in Raleigh.
  7. Where do you think the low will track?
  8. I think I read before to look at the NAM for the track this far out and the other models for the temps.
  9. Well, we have seen this back and forth dance before with the models. Not like it can't be reality.
  10. The low is all the way in the Gulf. Isn't that further south than previous runs?
  11. Triangle could still get a few inches of snow mixed with ice. Maybe it's not a foot of snow, but it will be a major impact storm.
  12. If that low was just 100 miles or so to the east...
  13. Can't wait to see the Euro ensembles. Looks like the op was a tick SE.
  14. Models are slowly trending better again. Just keep moving that low further east. Let's bring it home!
  15. Definite SE shift with the bigger totals.
  16. Yeah, that's what we need, further south and east.
  17. Well, buckeye was the one that suggested it. Not sure why it matters when it's what everyone is talking about.
  18. Well, maybe this time they'll go back to the favorable track for the low to bring back the monster snow storm.
  19. Maybe this will be like the the Christmas 2010 storm where it looked great, then looked awful about 48 hours out only to look great again 24 hours before the storm.
