I'm going to say 8-10" in Snowshoe. Snow is HEAVY and already compacted so can not get a good measurement. Such high water content that there are shades of blue.
Thinking we can hit 10" in Snowshoe, still with a Winter Weather Advisory. Never saw a WWA issued for amounts up to 8", as they did yesterday. Plus it was within a 6-8 hour period.
What's your elevation in Slatyfork? I'm assuming you are at Slatyfork Farm? Looked at a few properties there last year.
Just hit 32° on the Southside mtn of Snowshoe. Interested to see what happens tonight.
Winter Storm Watch changed to WWA for up to 8". Not sure how that happens.

Try that turn with snow falling...lol. If you have traction control on your AWD/4WD, turn it OFF! You need the momentum, regardless if wheels are spinning. Trust me....learned the hard way.
66 is back to being opened. All rocks been cut back!
Yeah, from DC, gotta go through Cass. Most do come from the other side since a lot of visitors are coming from the south.
Not sure if this was posted but pretty cool, in depth synopsis of the latest Nor'Easter and why many didn't get what was forecasted.

Got to Snowshoe today. Could see the caked trees in the distance. Ground was white around 3900'. Caked trees were around 4500'. Thorny Flat (highest point in Snowshoe) is 4849'.
Actually a 9 day 'work week' where we work a total of 3-24 hour shifts, then off 4 days in a row. This is the time I come to Snowshoe. Comes out to 53 hours/week.
