Based on satellite and radar. ILX has posted info regarding a few as well. Up to at least 7 now. .

At least 5 wildfires in NW IN and C IL so far. .

Yea, it has been interesting to watch the fluctuations. Winds increased earlier this morning, with gusts to 29KT. Then ceilings lowered and a few showers moved in, and winds died with only 10-15KT gusts. Since then with more sun, it’s not gusting to 39KT with some BLDU. .

One of the fires yesterday near the S IL town of Equality (Gallatin Co), burned ~250 acres.

Numerous wildfires ongoing across Northern and Central Illinois this afternoon. I've counted at least 12 thus far.

Euro and CFS are not only an overall torch for the rest of Oct, but also for Nov as well. Biggest torch month on Euro is actually Jan.

All but ORD/MDW/PWK and RFD had a freeze. Temps definitely over-performed, even the coldest guidance. .

Looks like the first widespread frost potential comes Sun night/Mon morning...maybe even a freeze for areas outside of the metro. .
