  1. Hit an area of +SN with peak vis down close to 1/8M for a time a bit ago near Warrenville.
  2. For the first time this season there’s actually going to be a large reservoir of cold air nearby for the multi-wave period in question. .
  3. The “marginally cold air” part is not correct in this case. .
  4. energy consolidating around energy is always the best. .
  5. High ratios didn’t happen at ORD, that’s for sure. .
  6. It’s probably a close 2nd to the GEM. This multiple wave period is still 5-9 days out though. .
  7. you should try a red pine, if you haven’t already. they’re not as bulky as many other pines/spruces. .
  8. dawn redwoods are great. a rare conifer that actually produces fall color. .

  10. Speaking of... 11 out of 18 April’s from 2000-2017 featured under 1” of monthly snowfall.
  11. Forgot to add in my last comment that 5 of the top 20 snowiest April’s have occurred since 2000...and 2018/2019/2020 are 3 of those 5. .
  12. Hard to be selective when there are so many instances of continued wintry weather well into April/May the past several years. .
  13. Add in that April 2018 was the 4th coldest April on record. .
  14. a few of the cold hardy palms would come close to making it through many winters downtown, without too much (if any) protection.
  15. you know it's a bad winter when the bottom of the first page in this sub-forum still has several threads from october listed.
  16. not only that...but as you mentioned in a recent post, there have been some crap winters...actually several just within the past 10-15 years alone.
  17. no way in hell beavis would be alright with an MSP winter. .
  18. The CFS most definitely is not frigid. Weeklies are mild to torchy and monthly is about average. .
