90/75 here. Local PWS also all close to or above 90. Going to roast today. Winds are out of the nw at ISP
-
Well he did show a national map lol. If you want to downplay a heat wave because that’s your thing then have at it. But if you want to be taken seriously then don’t be misleading. Why not mention Canada setting records?
-
Why did he leave it out of today’s tweet? Seems misleading no? Why no mention of the records in Canada?
-
New Brunswick also set a bunch of June records. I’m sure stations in Maine and Nh did as well.
-
That’s not correct. I believe Caribou tied its hottest temperature ever. https://www.bangordailynews.com/2024/06/20/state/maine-heat-wave-bangor-record-temperature/#

Topped out at 92 earlier, down to 90 now

Took a while for us to get there this year. We probably have 4 by next week.
-
90. First of the season. Minimal wind today
-
88. Getting there

Have a big beach day planned Sunday on the south shore. That doesn’t sound fun at all
-
I think today the day we hit 90 on the island. Probably today, tomorrow and Sunday
-
Feel the same way when there are headlines about a blizzard in the winter?
-
What? The vast majority of our records are from ASOS sites. Nobody cares if the Johnson Creek Mesonet hit 100. ASOS sites are typically well sited and representative of the area, of course there are exceptions. Even at Newark the actual ASOS site is not on the airport grounds but in a grassy area adjacent to the airport. The whole narrative that readings at ASOS sites are bogus is ridiculous

Topped out at 88. Beautiful day for the boat and pool. Breezy all day
-
You seem to have an issue with every single ASOS site. BOS, ORH, BDL…
-
88 will do it. Still no 90 for the year. Down to 86 now
-
88, getting there
-
Same
-
Even Caribou already in the 90s. Crazy stuff
-
Parts of Maine already approaching the mid 90s. Someone going to hit 100 up there
-
86/74 here now with no breeze. The first oppressive day of the summer out here.
-
Muggy out there, feels like summer
