  1. Agree. I would move my family out of harms way even if a cat 1 was bearing down. No need to be without power or deal with a tree thru my roof
  2. I see your point. What gets me is everyone referring to him as "josh" like they are his friends. Some may be i guess, but its still a bit weird. I think riding out storms is important, so people can see what happens if you dont leave, so i think what he does is important.
  3. Power outages showing up in Manorville and Ridge, so likely did some damage
  4. Storms out in Suffolk look nasty. Lots of rotation coming on shore now. Upton notes potential waterspouts and tornados , as the storms are warned
  5. Here it is. Screenshot from NWS summary of storm. 142 gust near Naples airport. So yes he had gusts around 140. Thanks.
  6. I never said sustained. Naples airport reported a gust to 141 mph I believe and he lives nearby
  7. New Houses aren’t built out of wood in Florida or the Bahamas. Strict building codes. Maybe where you live in Southern Ohio houses are made out of glue, but down there new construction is rock solid.
  8. Videos from the well off people appear to be from Freeport area, where wind gusts likely 120-130 range, which would destroy a wooden house, but won’t do too much damage to a newly built concrete house. These people likely know their house can withstand cat 3 winds and stayed, probably to ward off looting. My fathers house near Naples was hit with 140 winds in Irma and sustained minor roof damage and lost his linai. He could have stayed and been fine, but no power or water for weeks... New construction is solid.
  9. Getting bored of this storm. Ready for some blizzards up this way now.
  10. Mike Seidel seen stretching his hamstrings to get ready for the severe winds. Also learning which way to lean to remain standing.
  11. Another incredible day. 76 and sunny. These are the days we live for. Enjoy everyone
  12. Bust! Pretty incredible how poor mid range TC modeling is in 2019. From a Miami hit to out to sea in 2 days.
  13. Mine died two winters ago I think it was when we hit -4. Never recovered.
  14. 2 days ago looked like a beach day, forecast was partly cloudy and only 20% chance of rain
  15. Yea. Radar doesn’t do these downpours Justice. Yard is completely flooded. Upton did a good job with the flood advisory
  16. Point and click mentions severe storms out in Suffolk. I’m not seeing it
  17. Beautiful day for a hike through Caumsett State Park on the north shore of Suffolk. First hike I’ve gone on in years.
  18. 53 here. Forecast low was 59. 54 at ISP as well. 53 is impressive for late August. To me the pattern since spring has been annoying. No sustained warmth, but still above average. These intermittent cool shots are weak and took the bite out of summer. we have all year to be cool, we need to roast all summer.
