  1. How much snow are we getting?
  2. Not sure what to tell you man, every single airport gusted much higher than 41...I'll go with the ASOS over your jerry rigged wind meter lol. ISP gusted to 61, and FRG 51. Your 41 is off. Get a new anemometer.
  3. The rain has been relentless, like a monsoon most of the day. Like a tropical storm with the sideways rain squalls
  4. poster on another board in Lindenhurst reported a gust of 62, and frequent gusts to high 50s. Home annenometers are often inaccurate for obvious reasons. Most of Nassau and suffolk gusted 50-60, higher in suffolk.
  5. 17,000 without power on LI. I forecasted gust of 62 at ISP, they hit 61. Pretty solid forecast by me. City west was never supposed to see high winds. its predictable that some posters cry when they miss out.
  6. Note that islip airport is well inland from the water, unlike JFK. So those gusts are representative of what we are seeing. We are consistently in the 55 mph range, with a few around 60
  7. @Allsnow is a 61 mph gust advisory or warning criteria?
  8. Yea, has that sound. I think we peak around 3 pm, lets see what happens.
  9. 10,000 without power on LI now
  10. Yea, winds are howling now. Think my neighborhood is good for trees coming down, lost a ton in the microburst last year
  11. Take a time out. Did you see the reports from Rockland and Westchester, gusts to the mid 60s. Bridgeport gusts to 61. Seriously, give it a rest. How about you show max gusts from areas further north?
  12. When is the city ever good for winds?
  13. Yea, it was obvious this was a warning event. Lots of damage already and the worst hasnt even moved in yet. Nearly 8,000 without power on the island.
  14. Winds really ramping up in the past few minutes
  15. interesting that winds arent that high down here yet, maybe ocean stabilizing things a bit
  16. 2 pm looks to be peak wind time here
  17. Definitely gusting to 50 now, sustained winds probably around 25-30 now. No tree damage to speak of, and only 4000 power outages on the island. Good thing this event is coming right before leaf out
  18. 59 degrees now, dewpoint 58, what inversion?
  19. Agree, for NJ away from the coast. The wind events have been verifying well out here lately, as they usually do. Sorry its not the same for you in NJ.
  20. Brother, more than half the board will see warning level winds. I am sorry you live in a poor area for wind. Take a drive out to the island if you want to see a wind event...
  21. He’s off his rocker. I could see a few gusts out by great gull island to 72/73, that’s high end. I think Islip gusts to 62-63, and JFK the same. Low 60s.
  22. Yes, i do enjoy the sea breeze on those disgusting summer nights.
