  1. Noticed this also. Was hoping for more east movement to take advantage of the column for a while. .
  2. Getting a few flakes now. No sleet .
  3. That’s what I’m hoping. .
  4. I’m around 34-35 but my DP says 27-28° at several different locations around my house. Just now getting some returns over Knoxville .
  5. MRX latest dance... .DISCUSSION... Doppler radar and surface observations indicate that precip has begun reaching the ground across the southern Plateau and southern Valley, and we have received public reports of sleet in Cleveland and 0.3 inches of snow in Whitwell. The potential for snow and sleet will spread north and east through Midnight as isentropic upglide continues to strengthen along with strengthening warm, moist advection ahead of the approaching shortwave. Surface temps are generally in the mid 30's to near 40, but dew points in the 20's will lead to evaporative cooling as the airmass saturates, which will support the wintry precip. RAP soundings show a warm nose developing near 850 mb as WAA increases, so snow/sleet mix will gradually change to more of a sleet scenario then eventually all rain as the warmer air makes it back to the surface. This will occur fairly quickly from S to N, and the HREF precip types support this idea with much of the S Plateau and S Valley through SW NC expected to be rain by 07Z while the middle Valley changes to rain in the 07-09Z timeframe and the N Plateau through the N Valley and NE TN into SW VA changes to rain in the 09-12Z timeframe (perhaps later in SW VA). The previous forecast and headlines look good, so the only change was to issue an SPS for Bradley, McMinn, NW Monroe, and W Polk Counties through 07Z to cover the current mixed precip .
  6. Not sure what the wind is doing in middle Tennessee but it’s still out of the NE at my house just going by the feel of it. My area is wide open and I can usually get a good idea of the wind. .
  7. Very interesting. I’m assuming they believe our thermal profile is good enough for sleet and snow east of the plateau? .
  8. Interesting that TWC app has changed to 1-3” of snow for Knoxville .
  9. Mping report of sleet in W Knoxville .
  10. Huntsville just added a few more counties into the warning area. .
  11. I’m 36.3 now, dropping nicely .
  12. North of Nashville is puking it... .
  13. I’m down from 41 to 38. Great point someone said about radiational cooling if the sky can stay broken. Low humidity will help temps fall faster also. .
  14. I think you all will get hammered. I think my buddy who lives in Livingston might be the overall winner in the state. I feel bad for him though after all that ice damage they had and 6 inches or so of snow will be a disaster for them. .
  15. 1030ish high pressure over the top. [emoji736] CAA invasion [emoji736] Over night low of 18 [emoji736] Strong low pressure to the south [emoji736] 33 degrees and rain in the middle of February [emoji736] .
  16. Seriously though... has the system moved east at all the last 6 hours or so? .
