  1. Buddy of mine in Nashville said sleet is mixing in at 40 degrees .
  2. About an hour ago I went around my house and boarded up my craw space vents and outside spigots. When I finished I was ready to come in and I work outside for a living. That wind was cold. .
  3. Looked at a temp map of the US and the cold air has made it well into Texas to the Mexico border. Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t remember it being modeled that far south. Could the front dig far enough to pull up GOM moisture? .
  4. @Carvers Gap I started a thread on VQ asking for real times obs. That should help us keep up with the R/S line as it moves across the state. .
  5. Buddy of mine on Volquest just said his mom is in Dyersburg and it’s pouring the snow. .
  6. I would bet a lot of money that later on MRX goes with a WSW for the counties bordering Ky, Virginia and the GSM. .
  7. Remember though… if the DGZ is close to the ground, the radar might not pick it up. .
  8. I’m at 1200 feet and I’m in what I’d consider a low area for my region of N Knox Co .
  9. Yes. Remember it well. They were calling for a few inches. Some areas in and around Knoxville saw 8”. I did at my house. That’s when it was 25 below in Knoxville .
  10. Fill your vehicles full of gas. If the power went out you could get in the vehicles if we had too. 30-40 mph wind's possible. .
  11. It looks like the GFS’s dead zone is 30ish miles east of the other mods. The GFS is the only mod not showing me any snow. All the others have the dry slot west of me. .
  12. I’ll be floored if that little stretch of the valley gets almost nothing. .
  13. MRX is also having to deal with not knowing how much moisture these cold temps wring out. I also wonder if the high res simulated radars can pick up on a very low DGZ. Obviously this won’t be a big snow maker but I’m very curious how the mod’s handle some of these variables that we don’t ever see in our area. .
