  1. Weather is a lot like Tennessee athletics. Just when you feel like you are headed in the right direction, you end up with 33 and rain. .
  2. At least the mods are showing mostly rain for the valley. It would be a lot worse if the R/S line was on 40 like it usually is. I’m sure this will be all over the place, Euro will likely completely lose the storm for 12 hours and then bring it back. .
  3. Flashback… https://x.com/weathernut27/status/1741578524610207901?s=46&t=LVg8BRWCh1zZb6F_t95EVg .
  4. Wish I could remember the year. It’s been in the last 6 or 7 years but we had a very interesting system that came through ETn. The forecast for my area was snow to rain and backend snow. NWS thought a couple of inches up front before the changeover. For some crazy reason the valley had CAD north of 40. At my house 30 min north of Knoxville, the temp never broke 30 degrees and it stayed snow 95% of the event. I ended up with 8+ inches but Knoxville got only an inch and it switched to rain pretty quick. I remember my temp was in the upper 20’s and I was watching opps in the foothills and mountains waiting on WAA. I remember Gatlinburg was in the mid 40’s. One of the craziest storms I could remember. .
  5. The best thing we have going for us in the valley is it’s very unlikely that this is the right path. It will either get better or it won’t. It’s mostly rain as of now so it can’t get worse. .
  6. Is it me or does it seem like the wave west of here is rotating more east than the mods suggested? Also… moderate sleet shower moving through Halls. .
  7. Kinda wild that the southern valley west of Chattanooga is in a better location than you. Maybe not better but in a more favorable location this go around. .
  8. Getting some snow pack to our N/NW should help. Maybe not a lot of help but it won’t take much with highs around 40. .
  9. Just found out I’m getting off a 1/2 day tomorrow. I might head towards the plateau or maybe the Cherohala Skyway in Monroe Co. I’ve got a Jeep Wrangler with 35/12.50’s. It’s pretty incredible how well it handles in the snow. .
  10. MRX zone forecasts sometimes make no sense at all lol…for my location. “Friday A chance of rain and snow before 5pm, then a chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 42. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Friday Night A chance of snow showers before 8pm, then a chance of rain and snow showers between 8pm and 9pm, then a chance of snow showers after 9pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33. Southwest wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Rain/snow on Friday changes to all rain after 5pm (lol) Then at some point before 8pm it’s all snow but then Rain/snow between 8-9pm. .
  11. IMO an inch or two even on the plateau shouldn’t cause travel issues except in some isolated valley locations where the sun doesn’t really make it to the road. I guess it’s possible on some of the highest peaks of the plateau but I don’t think there’s many if any locations above 3,500ft. .
  12. We did very well the last 48 hours. Well over an inch around Knoxville. .
  13. MRX with an interesting tweet. Interesting that they are talking about this several days early. .
  14. Don’t want to get off topic or too far ahead and don’t spend much time on this but does spring look like a late arrival or about on time? I’ve got to transplant some shrubs and need to do it while they are dormant. .

  16. Miller B’s are not friendly to us west of 40/81. Seems like we always end up getting dry slotted during the handoff but NE Tennessee and the plateau seems to do well. .
  17. I got off for a while, just couldn’t take some of the stuff going on the site. I’m back on as GSM_Vol .
  18. Could you link those videos please so I can follow their pages? Thanks .
