  1. I wonder what has a better chance at verifying. This, or the Chinese space debris hitting me on the head Check out the 10:1 map for extra laughs
  2. Temp currently in the mid 40s here with mostly clear skies. Just have to lose the wind which we are starting to do. Could maintain a very gentle onshore flow through the night, but I don't think it will be strong enough to have a noticeable impact here. I think most models are too warm. I'll go with a low of 30 imby but would not be shocked at a brief dip into the upper 20s.
  3. I think I had one around May 20, 2002. Can't remember the exact date.
  4. They went frost advisory. Personally I'd prepare for the possibility of temps aob 32. I think there's a good chance we see that and more than just hyper localized, but we'll see.
  5. Euro is still on the southern end of things. All in all, would think there will be a good amount of precip into at least southern Chicago metro. Gets trickier with northward extent.
  6. Ah. That was the one I didn't read.
  7. Still have some signal for a window of flakes mixing in north of I-80 and maybe even down to I-80. So far I don't think the afds have mentioned the possibility. Any flakes at all is noteworthy at this time of year though so wondering if anybody will address the chances in the afternoon discussions.
  8. I think LOT needs to seriously consider a freeze warning around here tonight. Had a low of 34 this morning and the airmass tonight is colder aloft and with good radiational cooling again.
  9. 00z NAM still has a zone where it flips to snow, but farther south than before. *If* by some chance it does change to wet snow somewhere, it wouldn't take a lot of accumulation on the trees to cause some issues as the foliage is really far along now.
  10. If the weekend system doesn't produce a lot of rain here, I may shift into full unapologetic drought rooting mode. It's all we've got at this point.
  11. The layer from near the surface to about 850 mb is progged between 0C and -1C. Even the slightest error with that would cause more of a rain scenario. I wouldn't rule out some flakes mixing in somewhere on the northern side in heavier precip, but I think it's a real stretch to get accumulating snow as it stands now.
  12. You know, I remember that old poster named cromartie who used to talk about vitamin D. Liked palms too.
  13. That is a good point. I was just looking at some dewpoint plot trends and you see an overall rising trend even in areas far removed from the corn belt such as NYC and Boston.
  14. The more likely thing is probably Wisconsin mostly or entirely getting whiffed to the south with precip.
  15. Today will be 128 days since the last 0.50"+ calendar day rainfall at ORD, thus making it the 3rd longest streak without one. This streak would have to go through June 20 to get to 2nd place.
  16. Hey now. My grandma hailed from North Dakota, and I can tell you that her town by itself had 50 people.
  17. Euro has been relatively steady with holding the better rains south. We shall see what the 12z run does.
  18. I don't think this is entirely accurate everywhere, but posting it more to show how much of the CONUS warmed with the new averages. Somebody did stay steady or cool off though -- the northern Plains.
  19. lol, I don't recall michsnowfreak posting denier stuff. I don't think he doubts the overall warming across the globe, but he is obviously very focused on what is happening in the Detroit area.
  20. A lot of people suck at this though... or they "hydrate" with beverages that are less than ideal.
  21. Question for anyone who has gotten the vaccine. It seems to be a universal recommendation to hydrate well after getting it, but has anyone received any advice as far as working out or not working out? I'm not talking about taking a stroll around the block... I mean a lot of exertion. I can't find any official recommendation on this. It seems like it's a listen to your body thing. Like if your arm is sore, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to do a heavy overhead press. But anecdotally, has anyone noticed anything unusual while exercising after getting the vaccine (higher than expected heart rate, more fatigue, etc)
  22. This is really where the debate should be focused at this point.
